We’ve been working on a few things at EverythingDevOps this past months.
One of which we call “Demos” — step by step guides on open source tools reviewed and approved by its maintainers to ensure technical accuracy.
Our first Demo is Out! —we wrote about @ciliumproject

Fabrizio Sgura started programming at 12 years old with Basic and Assembler on a Sinclair.
Thirty years later, he's one of the most respected engineers in the cloud-native ecosystem, and he's still showing up for communities.
In 2025, Fabrizio packed his bags and flew to Lagos, Nigeria.
Not for a corporate engagement.
Not for a vendor event.
But to work, connect, and show up for the community at OSCAFEST and @KCDNigeria .
He described the engineers he met as simply unforgettable — smart, incredible, not just as human beings but as professionals.
He has also taken the stage at KubeCon CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, delivered a lightning talk at @OpenTofuOrg Day, and continues to contribute deeply to the global cloud-native ecosystem through his work at Veritas Automata.
For the engineers in Nigeria and across Africa who are building world-class skills in environments that don't always make it easy — Fabrizio sees you.
We see you too, Fabrizio Sgura.
Thank you for showing up for us.
Go follow Fabrizo and connect with him if you haven’t👇

AI can build your entire deployment project in minutes,
but can also get it wrong.
This is how Octopus Deploy uses AI to create projects fast,
OpenTofu to keep it deterministic,
and Git to make sure every change is reviewable before it ships.

1,120,000,000 contributions were made to open source projects on GitHub in 2025.
36,000,000 new developers joined the platform that same year.
Open source is no longer just a side project for the passionate few.
It's the most publicly verifiable portfolio you can build.
One that a hiring manager can read, review, and respect before they ever open your CV.
This June on The Engineers' Roundtable, we're having the real conversation:
Contributing To Open Source as a Career Strategy – How Does It Work?
Where do you start?
What do you contribute?
And how do you make sure the right people see your work?

The CI/CD ecosystem in 2026 is so crowded.
Everyone has an opinion on what tool to use and not to use.
The mistake most teams make isn't picking the wrong tool, it's picking a tool before they've clearly defined the problem.
Here’s a full breakdown of the top 10 CI/CD tools that every DevOps engineer should have in their toolkit in 2026 👇

Every npm install, pip install, and cargo add hits a package registry. And those registries are quietly breaking under the weight.
Open source registries hit close to 10 trillion downloads in 2025. That’s over one billion per hour.
Registries run on infrastructure donations and heroic efforts from small paid teams and unpaid volunteers.
But @linuxfoundation just formed the Sustaining Package Registries Working Group to bring registry leaders together to align on funding models, shared security coordination, and governance frameworks.

The most sophisticated thing you can do as an engineer in 2026 is deliberately choose boring technology.
One developer is making that argument and the engineering community is listening.
His stack: a single VPS, Postgres, a standard REST API, and a monolith.
No Kubernetes, no microservices, no event-driven architecture.
The most uncomfortable question in the article: are you building for your users, or building a monument to your own engineering ego?

@Anita_ihuman has been one of the most impactful contributors in the cloud-native and open-source ecosystem.
A Developer Advocate and community strategist with over five years of experience, Anita has spent her career doing the work that holds communities together.
This year, Anita's research paper, "Beyond Adoption: Examining the Evolution and Impact of Codes of Conduct on Open Source Communities" was officially presented at ICSE 2026, the premier IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering, held in Rio de Janeiro in April.
Getting a paper accepted to ICSE is no small thing!
Anita is also a CNCF Ambassador — one of a select group of individuals recognised by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation for their expertise and their commitment to making cloud-native technology more accessible to everyone.
In Nigeria, she organizes Kubernetes Community Days (KCD) Nigeria and the CNCF Abuja community group.
We see you, @Anita_ihuman .
The community is better because you're in it. Keep going.

Most engineers know ArgoCD deploys to Kubernetes.
Most know @OctopusDeploy Cloud handles releases, approvals, and multi-team governance.
But very few know how to make both tools talk to each other...
and that gap is quietly costing teams hours of manual work.
We broke it down like you're five.
