What time does the phone lines actually close and what options should he try to speak to someone if he can get the time?

@HMRCcustomers my son has been trying for 2 weeks to get off emergency tax, is there a way it can be done via web as tax office is closed when he finishes work?

@HMRCcustomers Does he just update his new employer details on the HMRC app or online, will this issue an updated tax code to his employer?

@HMRCcustomers Yes he has had 2 ended 1st sept form handed in to new employer now tax code on gov site says 1257lx and on his payslip its 580t so he’s paid emergency tax on 2 pays and it’s still the same for this month so that will be 3 in total
