@tombennett71 And should the mark schemes for one-on-one exam taking be less lenient? Students sitting in multiple settings have to cope with excess noise, movements, sniffs and coughs from others which can mean a lost train of thought. So mark schemes should show this.
Dialogic teaching - common approach in adult education. Treat the student as an adult who may question your approach. From year 6 (11 years old) would be doable if students of sufficient maturity.
We had a year 6 child on the interview panel for a teacher today.
At the end the panel were asked if they had any further questions.
"We employ a Dialogic teaching approach at our school - tell us what your understanding of that is please." she says.

Just got paid for exam marking & worked out it's about £5ph and that's me being generous. 🤣 There must be a way to make exam marking more attractive so that it all gets done in good time too - I think it's as simple as having more reasonable quotas not necessarily more pay!
