@Autistic_Lia i don't mock anyone but i'm sure i get annoyed at other autistic people for doing things i probably do myself in a slightly different way
Anyone who writes a really long email explaining things in detail is ND in some way. NTs give those one-two word responses or keep it short and sweet. I write novels. Is this an accurate assumption?
All chip shops are exactly the same there is no such thing and a good one or a bad one. It's loyalty to your local area that's the difference and that's it
Here’s to all the parents who learned that they’re autistic while going through the diagnosis process for their child. There’s something beautiful and poetic about how, in helping your child to learn about themselves and get support, you learned about yourself and your needs too.
i have a bone to pick with @Lin_Manuel... what is the relevance of this anecdote in @intheheights? yesenia/julio/josé are never spoken of again (i even checked the movie script to be sure), and the joke just seems to be "haha gay"
@amboinreallife @sarahmariha but i've realised that this "potential" is more of a "you'd potentially be better at this if you were NT" (which also isn't necessary true because some of my skills in my field (programming) are splinter effects from my neurodivergency)
@amboinreallife @sarahmariha i'm totally with you – i also quit due to burn out (among other things) and couldn't produce consistent work, etc., but i have so much "potential" in the sense that i'm pretty good at what i do.
of course that's my luck, i've been binding on and off for like 10 years, and i get what appears to be a binding-related injury less than a month before my top surgery
someone i was at a meeting with tonight randomly said scooters (like, the non-electric kind) have been around for like 20 years and my immediate thought/response was: "that doesn't sound ri— that can't be true because of Back to the Future"
