Let’s be clear what’s happening right now. We are “going to war” with the Houthis - with NO ACTUAL PLAN. There is NO ACTUAL PLAN for how we will fight them. We’re just tossing our hat in the ring and hoping they don’t sink our ships. Its a purely political move dictated by a sick old man in Washington who can’t keep track of his own staff.

If Iran gets involved? NO PLAN for that either. There is nowhere to put troops to launch an invasion of Iran. So if it escalates, then we have to use the ships against Iran - the same ships that might get hit with missiles. Can a few ships defeat a land power with a massive missile arsenal? No one knows because there’s NO PLAN.

What about the recruitment crisis? Let’s say we did figure out a way to, uh, invade Yemen. Where do we get the bodies? Do we draft them? No one knows. There’s NO PLAN.

Don’t be fooled. This isn’t the beginning of a new intervention in the Middle East. Its the end of an intervention in the Middle East that started just over 20 years ago. It will be a disaster if it goes ahead. Dangerous, humiliating, name it and its that. If we get out of it without photos of sunk ships in the Red Sea and dead sailors we’ll be lucky.

The worst part? Anyone with a brain knows it. We’re going in skeptical and exhausted. Our PR game is cooked. The rest of the world thinks we’re drowning and creating chaos. What a sad show. What weak ‘leadership’ we have in Washington. What an utter shame.
