@Nishaobgyn The idea that medical intervention (should) only occur when there is a threat to mother or infant doesn’t seem to matter.
I feel very uncomfortable with the idea of any bodily process having to fit an ‘ideology’
@anitasdottir@milfcartney I’m a bit younger so I don’t remember seeing them before they split up but I definitely remember their music on the radio. Lifelong fan.
They only came to Australia once and that was before I was born!
@b35king4aday@karlykingsley Rubbish. 40 years in service and have done more than one parade of over a mile. It’s actually easier to march a long distance in step: the cadence produces forward momentum.
@karlykingsley Confirm. Once you learn how to march in formation and in step it’s instinctive and actually hard not to do - like trying to sing badly if you can actually sing. They would have been hating every step but they did it anyway
@Froglips97@drkeithsiau A retractor holds the bladder (which is empty due to a catheter being in place) out of the way of the surgery. The bladder otherwise sits directly in front of the uterus and the incision site needed to get the baby out. Not damaging the bladder & ureters is a high priority.
@Sajhawkins1@drkeithsiau I’m so incredibly sorry that happened to you and your little one, Sarah. It should never have turned out that way.
All medical interventions should balance risk with benefit. The risk of surgery vs the benefit of a live mother and child.
I hope you and your daughter are thriving
@DanannSpl4ces@drkeithsiau And what would have happened to your baby?
I’m sorry you felt like your consent was forced and had a difficult time after the surgery but many breech births cannot be born safely vaginally without taking a significant risk.
