If you don’t support a category for just women in park run, so they can have correct finishing positions & fair course records, please tell me why elite women are entitled to these things, but competitive female recreational runners are not?
@JeanHatchet Unfortunately I have no faith in politicians ever doing the ‘right’ thing. If they did we would *never* be here. AB has already shown his colours and he certainly isn’t going to p1ss off the Unions
As the Western world falls apart before our eyes, I can't help but wonder how things would be today, if people listened when for 15 years women warned that our institutions are captured by mad ideologies and incompetent fools who don't gaf about safety of women and children.
Bluntly, if you allow any Man to identify into a legally protected class such as the female sex, you remove, in a single swipe, all legal protections for Women.
It is irrefutable fact.
You only need to look to Australia where this has happened and Women now have no legal protections against Men as Gender ideology has corrupted their laws.
I can only describe this intent as evil.
Absolute proof, were it needed, of the deep and abiding misogyny of the trades union movement. It was never about or for women. All women trade union members must now abandon this men’s rights movement and form their own unions for women. Start here: https://t.co/JG65NuHtrP
@soniasodha Also in respect of changing and undress we have and always had a culture of bodily privacy, which, if single sex changing not provided, leads to “quiet quitting” particularly by women. Hence one reason for the low uptake of sport by women and girls
“Amending the Equality Act” sounds terribly benign until you read the bit about doing it so organisations can “get out of” abiding by guidance on single-sex spaces. Women have seen this trick before. Australia has the receipts.
@AidanCTweets 🤣🤣🤣 you are seriously deluded. Gays do not DEMAND that their sexuality is validated/affirmed. Only ‘trans’ requires everyone to suspend reality.
@suladoyle They've been completely duped by the 'be kind' slogan/mantra that proliferated in the beginning. Classic play on the (generalisation) female tendency to accommodate, include, protect, along with not push back. That they *still* refuse to see the catastrophe is unforgivable.
The promotion of Alex Sobel to Chair of the Joint Committee on Human Rights and Olivia Bailey to Chair of the Women & Equalities Select Committee is a clear sign that Labour MPs are only interested in men’s rights. Neither of these two very prejudiced MPs give a damn about women.
@Heccles94 That you consider allowing access of males into female single sex spaces as not competing, illustrates your complete contempt for women, plus an abject ignorance of reality.
@ucu Oh great- a motion to DENY females the respect, safeguarding and autonomy of single sex spaces, in order to appease a small cohort of males. Weird how this basically means the Union does not feel females are deserving of human rights.
Imagine being so casually sold out by one's own government as it needlessly panders to the fantasy whims of a few narcissistic men.
How incredibly horrific.
What Nadia Whittome is proposing is changing the Equality Act to an Australian-style model, where men have all the rights and women have none. We have already seen the consequences of conflicts over that approach in the Sall Grover case.
At some point we have to be prepared to say something very simple: there are limitations to identifying as the opposite sex.
Identity cannot give someone an unlimited right of access to the opposite sex's spaces.
Not the changing room your daughter uses.
Not the female ward where your confused elderly mother is at her most vulnerable.
Not rape crisis services.
Not female prisons.
Not female psychiatric wards.
Why have we spent years finding it almost unthinkable to say that someone may identify as they wish, but there are boundaries to what that identity can require of everybody else?
Women should not lose their boundaries because somebody else identifies across them.
State the boundaries and stop dismantling women's sex-based rights in an attempt to pretend there are no limitations to identity.
