@JensTerhaar Even more modest of a change than that actually. Just increasing salinity to 50 g/kg (not by 50 g/kg) was enough to simulate warm Archean climates despite otherwise pessimistic assumptions!

@JanDZika At least partially! AMOC strengthens w/ increasing salinity in present-day Earth scenarios. No AMOC in Archean w/o continents, but the ice line is stabilized at low lats against the ice-albedo feedback due to overturning at the ice margin, which strengthens w/ increasing salinity

@ElleChimiak My understanding is that hypersaline environments get a lot of attention from biosignature folks for favoring organic preservation over geologic timescales, so quite possibly yes!
