Welcome to Mumbai’s newest flyover worth ₹248 crore. At 750 metres of road, that’s ₹33 lakh a metre.
And it opened this week full of potholes.
The flyover is named after the iconic Mrinal Tai Gore, who spent her whole life fighting so ordinary Mumbaikars got a life of dignity.
After seven years, three cost revisions, and a daily penalty on the contractor - this is all they could come up with to honour her?
But kya karein. This is the standard now under the triple-engine sarkar. Cut the ribbon. Click the photo. Leave the potholes for us. Bajao taali.
This GenZ kid is more sorted than people with partisan apprehensions on social media.
Reporter: What are your demands?
Aarav: Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
Reporter: If Dharmendra Pradhan doesn't resign today, will you still support CJP?
Aarav: I have no personal attachment to CJP. I will support any party that raises my issues. I haven't come for CJP. I have come for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. My issues are not Hindu-Muslim. My issues are education, healthcare, etc.
This is Rahul Singh, IAS.
Yesterday, he was transferred and removed as CBSE chairperson, Sanghis started calling it big action and big punishment.
Today, he has been appointed as Agricultural secretary.
Joke is on us, they continue to enjoy one way or the other.
Dear Sister,
Come to India. I will pay for your business class flights and your entire stay here for just one month
During that month, travel on our trains
Send your kid to any government school for one week
Do your morning walks on our footpaths
Try to visit and get an appointment at a government hospital
And ride a scooty on our potholed and dusty roads.
Then tell me about your experience visiting India.
Great work @Dev_Fadnavis letting your transport minister rampage over the state and harass businesses.
Like I say, the E in Maharashtra is for Ease of Doing Business.
Mumbai’s roads have already cost taxpayers thousands of crores, years of delays, endless traffic and poor quality work. Yet instead of completing existing projects, BMC now plans another massive phase of concretisation by digging up service roads across the city once again.
Today, I have written to the Municipal Commissioner demanding an immediate halt to the proposed Phase-3 concretisation works until pending projects are completed and accountability is fixed.
Mumbai cannot be turned into a perpetual construction site at the cost of its citizens.
🚨 Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation’s new Chairman arrived in Bhopal from Ujjain with a massive convoy (>500 vehicles) to assume charge.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister tells citizens and the CM tells ministers: “Save Petrol.” 🤡🤦♂️
Common people are not the ones wasting fuel. They are struggling just to survive.
It’s politicians who waste fuel with hundreds of cars in election rallies & long VIP convoys.
Time to end this entire VIP culture !
A shout out to @mybmcWardGS@mybmcInfra@mybmc and @AshwiniBhide : garbage is cleared in the night and neatly stacked for collection. Those who don’t notice dustbins every 300 meters or less can’t miss this. Now it is up to us to keep the promenade clean. Please make the effort to point those who litter to the numerous international standard bins that have been provided!! 👏👏👏🙏
@mid_day And what exactly is the alternate for private transport if your route has-
1.Choked railway
https://t.co/pEfONJCsBX BEST buses
3.Unfinished and delayed metro works since donkey years.
Ongoing infra must be finished before such decisions! @AshwiniBhide
In Mumbai we are at the point - where we don't need any NEW infrastructure projects to get started. We just need to complete the existing ones.
And focus on making the city liveable for the majority. Slum Redevelopment/Open Spaces/Trees/Footpaths/Cleanliness.
A brand new footpath in Tardeo already dug up and abandoned.
This is exactly why people are cynical about public works in Mumbai.
We spend crores rebuilding roads and footpaths, only to tear them open again within weeks for utilities or unfinished coordination between departments. Meanwhile pedestrians are left navigating rubble, broken surfaces and exposed trenches.
This last lane of SV road at Goregaon, Mumbai, was concretised few months back.
It is now dug up again fully for cable laying.
Similar scenario on Link road Goregaon. Newly concretised last lane dug up by the Sewerage department.
Why aren't the departments talking and coordinating before wasting money?
🚨 Sakinaka–Marol Route Blocked
After right turn from Sakinaka signal towards Marol, illegal commercial vehicles & trucks parked on the nalla are blocking ~30m of road on Andheri–Ghatkopar Link Rd
👉 Immediate action needed to clear encroachment @MTPHereToHelp@CPMumbaiPolice
@0Pramt@mumbaimatterz@linahOlinah@HT_Mumbai The actual condition is much worse! Heavy vehicles parked illegally, that too not parallel parking! @MTPHereToHelp officials are useless in clearing this mess as they get their cut very clearly mentioned by the shopkeepers there.
Needs to be highlighted more.
Today, a rock flew off a drilling rig on eastern express Highway in Mumbai and smashed my windshield & sunroof. Could’ve been fatal.
Clear negligence. No accountability.
I’m safe because I was in car, biker would have died. @MumbaiPolice@nitin_gadkari@PratapSarnaik@TimesNow
