I built it for my mother, who passed away last year after a long struggle with kidney disease.
Thousands of young Nepali men and women leave their country every year in search of a better life, and the Gulf countries remain their largest destination. Construction workers, laborers, domestic workers: the backbone of Nepal's remittance economy, sending home billions that sustain families and build a nation. They return years later with damaged kidneys nobody warned them about, worn down by long shifts under a 48°C (118°F) sun, chronic dehydration, no shade, no clean water, and painkillers taken just to keep working through exhaustion. This is preventable.

NephroCare is a free, AI-powered CKD risk calculator built for pre-departure health screenings. It assesses clinical history, occupational exposure, and hydration habits, and generates a personalised risk interpretation using AI. A daily health log lets deployed workers track symptoms and download a PDF report to email their doctor.
Free. No login. Accessible to everyone. (WhatsApp chatbot and bilingual mobile monitoring coming next.)
I built this in honor of my beloved mother, who would have been proud to see this tool working and saving lives.
If you work in global health, nephrology, or migrant worker advocacy, I'd love to connect. And if you know anyone running pre-migration clinics in Nepal, please share this.
