An event like this has so many moving parts and details to take care of but when it lands the way you pictured it, it’s just beautiful.
None of it would’ve been possible without the people behind it - big shoutout to @hypepartners, @OctantApp, @cryptokwueene, @arlery, @cdl_concerts and everyone who helped bring it to life.
It’s been a week since our Candlelight Concert with @OctantApp, and the glow hasn’t faded ✨
Between all the side events, we all need a moment to pause, to slow down before we speed up again.
Thanks to everyone who attended. We hope the music and the company left you inspired.
Remember our custom Nike AF1s from last year? Tomorrow, we’re doing it again at EthCC.
Guest artist 𝑳𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒆 𝑖𝑠𝐿𝐴𝑟𝑡 will be live customising a 1-of-1 pair of Sony headphones at our Cinq à Sept apéro with @refraction_irl and @StellarOrg.
One lucky guest wins them!
In events reading the room is what actually shifts the entire experience, and sorry, but no AI agent can do that.
I’ve spent the last few years producing experiences for crypto brands, including Hype, and it’s no secret that our space is populated by some of the most (if not the most ) chronically online people. And one of the activations my team is most proud of is getting 70+ of them to put their phones down and actually be present in a room together.
No AI tool told us how to do that. And it can’t because it doesn’t know what it’s like to experience the real world or network without tech.
We knew what was missing in that moment/what people were craving and who would have loved the experience. And magic happened because of decisions made on the ground and the people involved in making it all happen.
Some simple facts after going through @0xDannyHype 's piece on what AI can’t replace in IRL moments:
- The vibe check. Knowing whether a venue, a format, or a timing will work for a crowd
- Relationships with that supplier who saves you at 24 hrs notice. Or with the partner who buys into an idea because they trust you. All these aren’t transactional, they’re built over time.
- The depth that can’t be a/b tested. Online we optimised for reach and scale, but lost intimacy in the process. IRL is where that comes back and makes the event ‘talkable’. Cause, tbh, one of the metrics that matters the most is whether people talk about it afterwards.
- And most of all, human instinct. I’ve seen activations with perfect decks fall completely flat. As well as last min pivots turn into the most talked-about moments of the week. And that’s just a human, experience-based judgment call
TLDR AI simply cannot walk into a room and know what that room needs. That part is still very much ours

really proud of what this grew into and seeing people’s reactions honestly made my whole week!
thanks to everyone who passed by, all those who helped and collaborated with Hype, and the cafés who hosted us (I fully felt BA hospitality without even being there)!
when the events I work on land like this, it reminds me why I love doing this
Our initial idea was simple: give people a place to pause, meet, and learn. But what happened across Palermo felt bigger!
For all of this, we need to thank the great people who helped make it happen: @dee_centralized, @coinempress, @DAppaDanDev, @web3nikki, @poapxyz, our team onsite, and every café that hosted us.
Share with us your fav moment from Hype Pop Ups in comments - we wanna see them all!
Too many people have told me “I” did an amazing job with this but it was 100% @cryptokwueene and @ey_bbb, they absolutely crushed it. From the concept, picking the venue, curating the guestlist, hand placing each candle manually, and the personalized gifts. Many thanks to @arlery for believing in the vision and cohosting it with us.
Thank you to everyone who came and if you have pictures please share. More experiences to come...
feedback like this is everything to me! having happy guests AND happy vendors is the whole win.
big big thank you to every café, every collaborator, and to @cryptokwueene for being the best partner in crime!
happy vendors are also an important kpi, amigos
Hype Pop Ups are a wrap!
loved how collaborative & receptive the cafe owners have been and making sure that we have everything we need to provide a kick ass experience in BA
s/o to our producer @ey_bbb for making this happen
