The people of Eritrea have earned a strong reputation for extraordinary resilience and unwavering determination in the face of adversity. Recently, the Ethiopian government has begun to make aggressive manoeuvres that suggest a potential invasion of Eritrea. This renewed tension evokes memories of past conflicts and highlights the urgent need for vigilance among the Eritrean populace, who have historically fought hard to defend their sovereignty from external threats. Eritreans' resilience is rooted in shared hardship, unity, and the aspiration for self-determination, which continues to shape their response to modern challenges. Their motivations appear to be significantly driven by a desire for unfettered access to the strategically vital Red Sea. Compounding these concerns is the worrying trend of the Ethiopian government acting as a proxy for external interests, notably the United Arab Emirates. In response to these threats, the Eritrean people, backed by their steadfast government and heroic defence forces, are resolutely prepared to counter any acts of aggression from the Ethiopian regime. Their commitment to national defence is unwavering, reflecting a collective resolve to protect their territory and sovereignty. Additionally, the Eritrean diaspora—spread across the globe—remains united in supporting their homeland, more resilient than ever. This solidarity strengthens the national spirit, as people at home and abroad work together to uphold Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid renewed threats.
https://t.co/BcyVEV75Qn #Ethiopia|s posture evokes the Tigrinya proverb: “ሃሪሙኒ በኽዩ ቀዲሙኒ ኸሲሱ”, the guilty party PP, plays the victim, crying foul before the injured party, #Eritrea, can speak. By rushing to portray itself as the aggrieved party, Addis Ababa appears intent on shaping the international narrative and diverting attention from its internal conflicts and provocative regional rhetoric. But diplomatic theatre cannot substitute for evidence, and being first to make an accusation does not establish innocence.
As for the conflict entrepreneurs and media who have come out of their foxholes to serve the PP’s political agenda by amplifying its unsubstantiated allegations against #Eritrea, while ignoring the destruction and suffering unfolding within #Ethiopia, they only compromise their own credibility and integrity.
Diverting attention from the loss of Ethiopian lives and livelihoods does not absolve those enabling or prolonging the suffering. Diplomatic and political shields must not become cover for human tragedy unfolding across #Ethiopia.
#Eritrea will not be scapegoated for #Ethiopia|s internal crises, nor intimidated into surrendering its sovereign rights. The international community must examine the chronology of events, scrutinize the evidence, and apply the @UN Charter and international law consistently.
🇪🇷WE STAND FOR ERITREA.
We respect our neighbors.
We support peaceful cooperation.
We believe in regional development.
But our sovereignty is not a bargaining chip, our independence is not negotiable, and our borders deserve full respect.
I stand with Eritrea's right to defend its territorial integrity.
Peace with dignity. Cooperation without coercion. Sovereignty without compromise.

Jawar, your argument is built on unproven accusation. Eritrea has not been proven to invade Eth. you can't use allegations to justify crossing internationally recognised border. Eri is a sovereign, not target for Eth’s ambitions. Stop disguising war rhetoric as national security.
#Eritrea: Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Sends Letter to the UN Security Council;
10 October 2026
1. In its communications to the UN Security Council yesterday, Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry has formally informed the UN Security Council that it is “taking measures” to implement the war of aggression that it has declared against Eritrea for three-years now.
2. Ethiopia’s deceitful attempts to rationalize its brazen acts of war against a sovereign UN member State in “self-defense” terms is hollow in substance and constitutes an insult to the intelligence of the international community.
3. Ethiopia’s provocative acts of war and regional destabilization had in fact elicited the UNSG and many UN member States to issue coordinated Statements on the 25thAnniversary of the Algiers Agreement in December last year that underlined the urgency and imperative of respecting Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
4. But Ethiopia did not only fail to heed these warnings; it has gone further to incorporate and operationalize its long-planned invasion of Eritrea as part and parcel of the huge offensive it has unleashed in northern Ethiopia.
5. In the event, Eritrea requests the UN Security Council to forcefully condemn Ethiopia’s deplorable declaration of war against Eritrea, which will inculcate huge devastation to the peoples of both countries and destabilize the whole region, and take the requisite deterrent measures against it in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

The proof that Abiy is doing whatever he has been told to do doesn’t require binoculars or exceptional intelligence to understand. We know the gruesome events that unfolded on October 7, 2023, when a coordinated cross-border assault led by Hamas against southern Israel killed approximately 1,200 people and resulted in 251 hostages being taken. (Reuters)
Abiy’s apparent attempt to replicate a fake invasion on the same month and date raises serious questions. After all, the fact that the events appear to follow the same date is worth examining. Furthermore, the journalists providing input are Ethiopians working for Reuters and ACLEDINFO.
I am #Eritrean and I stand by my country. But the claim that Eritrea illegally invaded #Ethiopia is false. Eritrea defends its borders, but we do not threaten any neighbor. Anyone who claims otherwise should provide evidence. I rely on truth and de-escalation, not fearmongering.
The term 'decaffeinated sovereignty' isn't law, it's branding for irredentism. #Eritrea insisting its border & Red Sea coast are non-negotiable isn't a shield. #Ethiopia claiming another state's coastline as existential is the real one-way street.

A few things need to be said. Did you ever stop to consider this when making claims about the Red Sea, Eritrean ports, or Somaliland in Somalia or when backing the RSF against the Sudanese people?
The claim that Eritrea invaded Ethiopia is part of a coordinated media campaign and serve as a pretext for war against Eritrea. Several Ethiopian journalists working for news outlets have promoted this narrative.
The 1908 treaty set the #Eritrea–#Ethiopia border 60 km from the coast to #Djibouti, leaving #Assab in Eritrea; the #AfricanUnion’s inherited-border principle rejects seizure by threats or force, regardless of past history, economic interests, landlocked status or national power.
