Highlights from the HPV Vaccine Introduction in Kwara State!
The First Lady of Kwara State, Prof. Olufunke AbdulRazak, urged parents to prioritize vaccination for the health and well-being of their children, emphasizing the importance of preventive care. She highlighted the necessity of securing the future of the girl child in light of the current cervical cancer statistics in the country. A total of 787 school children were vaccinated at the event held at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin.
Representatives from @NPHCDA, @WHONigeria@WMulombo , @UNICEF_Nigeria@educel2000 were in attendance.

The visit lended @drfaisalshuaib and myself to secure commitment by His Excellency to push the polio fight to the last mile in Zamfara by expanding polio vaccination and routine immunization services to insecure/inaccessible settlements @WHONigeria@NphcdaNG
Call to action was followed by immediate commitment of HE the Executive Governor, instructing the Permanent Secretary SMOH to work with all stakeholders to revitalize Multi Stakeholder Policy & Action, Community Empowerment & integrated health care services
I used this opportunity of my first ever visit to Zamfara State to highlight historic role the State is expected to play by tackling cVPV2 transmission, especially in security compromised areas, harnessing innovative strategies to reach zero dose children
