ANE is a Tensor Processing Unit, unlike GPU, it requires fixed-shape tensors. The KV cache size is set at compile time. A fixed 4096 context always runs at the slowest speed, even for short replies.

Variable Context: start with a small 512-token cache (43 t/s), grow seamlessly to 4096 only when needed. 3.5x–1.6x faster depending on output length. All on-device.

Demo uses VibeThinker 1.5B - a reasoning model running entirely on Apple Neural Engine.

@Nick_Davidov I can confirm that there were efforts made to address homelessness. For instance, HomeFirst at Rue Ferrari South San Jose (where I frequently drive by) has doubled its capacity. The Mayor Mahan and Rep. Panetta jointly secured $30 million in funding for the facility’s expansion.
