@LanceMcAlister When you build a team to the point the Reds have and one impact signing (big bat) should take you over the hump you need to find a way to make that happen. Make a winning team happen, don’t just hope for it.
@MoEgger I think Robert has the chance to be good but we will only have him for two years and have to give up assets. 20mil/yr for a possible impact player or 30mil and giving no pieces for a sure thing like Alonso or Schwarber.
@LanceMcAlister You can either have a $20m player who has a possibility of being great (although not a HR machine) or $30m for a sure thing. Why not roll the dice and end up with a $20m boat anchor.
@bryce_spalding Having to trade small pieces like this to save a few bucks. Pathetic. Neither of them are long term liabilities. At least Singing could be traded at the deadline for assets if need be.
@LanceMcAlister Spend 30 mill on a player you know will make a difference. Dont spend 15-20 on someone that will not pan out and then you need to attach to good players to dump the salary in a later trade.
@allenanalysis Vegas used to be one of the few places you could gamble. Now you can do it from a nearby city or your own couch. Vegas used to be a place with perceived deals for lodging and food, doesn’t seem to be that any more.
@Crew96Times No kidding. He’s better than Miguel Berry, but not even as good as Ramirez. And keep in mind when we signed Ramirez, nobody was super excited until he proved himself.
