It wasn’t compulsory to pay the sum of ₦20m to the party. It was a voluntary donation.

Federal House of Representative aspirants were asked to make a donation of 10m and Senate were asked for 20m (voluntary donation) with nothing attached.

Some aspirants paid while others did not. Those going to court are the ones who paid, thinking they would be made the consensus candidate, but they were asked to all go to the field for primaries and most of them lost out.
