Highly influenced by @marclou's indie hacking. Might start building a Micro SaaS soon that solves exactly one problem. The moat is to ship fast and stay consistent!
It's been nearly 7 years since Ather released their scooters and we don't still have widgets for the mobile app. Are there any plans in the near future? @atherenergy@tarunsmehta
Contributing to open source gives an unfair advantage
- Navigating through any code base and start solving issues right away
- You won't be stuck in a specific language or a framework
I don't have projects. I only have oss contributions
if starting from 0, here's how you should start w open source in 2026.
- learn a programming language 1-week
- learn the basics of git and github 3-days
- explore oss projects (yc open source startup directory, https://t.co/XW3vRCwsVq or https://t.co/6NPqX0IV1S) 1-week
- pick 3 projects you like 3-days
- set them up locally 1-week
- pick ur first issue (small one) 2-days
- fix it and raise a pr 2-days
- fix reviews and get it merged 3-days
welcome to open source!
just remember one thing: in open source you just need little dopamine of getting ur initial prs (goal: 7) merged. once you have it, only sky will be the limit for you.
@mehulmpt Using Langchain sdk or aisdk make things much easier. It's literally adding the model name and the provider. The response format is the same for any models you use. These sdks abstract that. But when gpt 5 came we're required to add some code changes for reasoning, summary
@NithurM Add these to the cursor user rules or claude code rules
- Don't create documentation for the tasks that you work on, unless asked by the user
- Don't create additional .md files summarising the code that you have generated
@ajeetunc Document every idea you think of, including factors like practicality, cost to build an MVP, difficulty level, scalability, target audience, whether it’s B2B or B2C, whether people would pay for it, and anything else you think of. Down the line, you can build something from it.
