OUTCOME OF THE EKITI STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF TUESDAY 12TH MARCH, 2024
The following approvals were part of the decisions taken at the meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Executive Council Chamber, New Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti on Tuesday 12th March, 2024.
1.EKITI GOVT. APPROVES N159.5MILLION FOR REHABILITATION OF 121 BOREHOLES ACROSS THE STATE
Ekiti State Government has approved the immediate rehabilitation of 121 boreholes across the 16Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 22Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the State with a sum of N159,542,787.33 (one hundred fifty nine million, five hundred and forty two thousand, seven hundred and eight seven naira, thirty three kobo only).
The job is to be carried out by the Ekiti State Small Towns, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency through Direct Labour and completed within two weeks.
The project is being executed through a Performance for Result Financing (P for R) World Bank supported programme the Sustainable Urban Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Programme (SURWASH) whereby the World Bank will disburse to the State a sum of nineteen dollars ($19.00) only per person for the over thirty thousand (30,0000) citizens expected to consume the water.
2.APPROVAL FOR RENOVATION OF THE AGRICULTURAL FARM BUILDINGS (PHASE II) AT ERINFUN, ALONG FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ROAD, ADO-EKITI
Government approved a sum of N133,707,507.14 for the renovation of the Agricultural Farm Buildings (phase II) at Erinfun, along Federal Polytechnic road, Ado-Ekiti.
The gesture is part of efforts of the present administration to make farming attractive to Youths and boost food production.
Mr Governor also announced the setting up an eight man committee on Food security headed by Hon Commissioner for Agriculture and food security with a mandate to come up with strategy to mitigate food crisis
3.EKITI GOVT APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF PRINCE ANDERO DAVID OLUWATOYIN AS THE ONIRELE OF IRELE EKITI
The Ekiti State government has approved the appointment of Prince Andero David Oluwatoyin as the Onirele of Irele Ekiti in lkole Local Government Area.
The appointment was made after clearance from the Ministry of Justice, adding that it was consistent with the provisions of the Chiefs Law (2012) Cap C5 Law of Ekiti State.
The throne became vacant following the demise of Oba Ezekiel Bamidele Adesogan of Oke-Aga Ruling House on 20t August,2022. Consequently,the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Home Affairs in a letter dated 10th July, 2023 directed lkole Local Government to put in motion necessary machinery for the Oke-Aga Ruling House which is the only Ruling House to fill the vacant stool in line with the selection process.
Prince Andero David Oluwatoyin obtained Master’s Degree In Education from the University of llorin, Masters of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho, Bachelor of Art in Education from the University of Calabar and Grade II Teacher Certificate from St. Peter Teacher Training, Akure.
The appointment has been authorized to be published as a legal notice in the state gazette.
4.EKITI EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVES ESTABLISHMENT OF ASO-OKE WEAVING AND MARKET CENTRE
Ekiti State Executive Council also approved a sum of N100,876,074.41 the establishment and construction of Aso-Oke Weaving and Market Centre in Ado Ekiti as part of efforts to create employment opportunities for the youths and encourage common use of essential facilities hitherto beyond the reach of individuals.
The job will be carried out by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives in collaboration with Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development through Direct Labour.
