‘Whatever’ by @oasis got released 30 years ago today. It’s an incredible song and it should have been the Christmas number 1 for that year. The b-sides are also amazing.

The BSA mourns the passing of Colin Renfrew, thought by many to be the world’s greatest living archaeologist, at the age of 87. Professor Colin Renfew, Lord Renfrew of Kaimsthorn, was a Vice-President of the BSA and former Chairman of Council.

While the stories about the British Museum vindicate some of the feelings I have towards these institutions the reputational damage to museums and archaeology as a whole in the eyes of the public can't be understated.
