Jesus said, “Why do you notice the little piece of dust in your friend’s eye, but not the big piece of wood in your own eye?... You hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to take the dust out of your friend’s eye.” Matthew 7:3, 5
This will blow your mind:
In the Eucharist, when we stand and listen to the Gospel lesson….
In the first decades of Christianity, before the 4 Gospels were written or circulated, at this point in the liturgy, one of the 12 living Apostles would stand up and tell a story they remembered about Jesus Christ (Gospel lesson) and then explain it (sermon). Then that Apostle would consecrate and distribute the Eucharist.
The 4 Gospels naturally took the place of the living Apostles over time. That’s why the Apostles commissioned the 4 Gospels. And it’s why we still stand - in honor of the Apostles sharing their memory of the very words of Christ.
@APompliano Imagine these people thinking that the climate is a reason not to have kids… I would have thought finances were a bigger deterrent. Have kids people!!
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of marriage, a beautiful covenant designed by You and blessed by Your love. Today I lift up every marriage before Your throne of grace. May husbands and wives be united in heart, mind, and spirit, growing closer to one another as they grow closer to You.
Lord, fill every home with Your peace, joy, and presence. Teach couples to love each other with patience, kindness, humility, and forgiveness. When challenges arise, give them wisdom to communicate with grace, strength to overcome difficulties together, and faith to trust in Your plan.
Protect marriages from division, misunderstanding, temptation, and anything that seeks to destroy the bond You have established. Help spouses to honor, respect, encourage, and support one another through every season of life. May their words build up rather than tear down, and may their actions reflect the love of Christ.
Father, heal wounded hearts, restore broken relationships, and renew the love that may have grown weak over time. Let Your mercy bring reconciliation where there is hurt, and let Your Holy Spirit guide every decision they make. Bless them with unity, understanding, and a deep commitment that endures through every trial.
May every marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Let homes be filled with prayer, gratitude, and devotion to You. Bless couples with good health, provision, protection, and the courage to walk together in righteousness. May they continually choose love, extend grace, and cherish one another as precious gifts from Your hand.
Lord Jesus, be the center of every marriage. Strengthen the foundation of their relationship, deepen their faith, and help them reflect Your unconditional love to the world around them.
In Your holy and precious name, I pray.
Amen. 🙏❤️
Every morning Saint Francis de Sales recommends meditating on this:
God had no need for you, yet He made you
He made you out of nothing
He did not need you, and you do not add to Him
Yet out of nothing, He made you solely out of Love.
Consider also the times you’ve betrayed God, but specifically how He brought you back when you repented…
Likewise, you betrayed God, but He brought you back
He had no need to bring you back, but He did.
Solely out of His immense love for you, and you in particular
Remember that God loves you.
@NovusOrdoWatch Should we love them? Yes, absolutely. Should we encourage and affirm their mortal sins? Absolutely not. Just as we shouldn’t be encouraging lust, idolatry, infidelity, ect.
Gospel of the Day (John 20,19-23)
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, «Peace be with you.»
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
(Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

Gospel of the Day (John 17,11b-19)
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying: "Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are.
When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled.
But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely.
I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one.
They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.
Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.
And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth."
