Statement on the life long solidarity with Palestine.

This month, someone chose to attack one of our customers for endorsing our products. They decided he was privileged for being an early adopter and promoting this technology. Other people joined in, we also addressed several of them.

These facts are easily verified, and you will notice that the people still slandering Nukit will not link to the claimed offense because it's easy to see what actually occurred.

Endorsements are how we market—how we can afford to donate products to people who can't afford to buy them and how we can sell them for 1/3rd the cost of anyone else. If people who endorse Nukit products are attacked for owning and using those products, they make that business model non-viable. The donation money has to go into ads- because there is no traffic or sales coming from endorsements.

Doing this takes free and low-cost mitigations out of the hands of disabled people who desperately need it but can't afford it- simply because someone decided their desire to vent frustration comes before the needs of an entire community.

These self-avowed leftists are, ironically, completely unable to set aside their personal impulses at any given moment for the collective good, and feel their marginalized status grants them license to go after other marginalized groups and claim to have been wronged if they get a response.

Growing up under pure, unadulterated capitalism, many only understand the most brutal forms of capitalism- they have never dealt with a socially conscious company as anything but a theoretical concept. So don't understand how financially precarious that is. They think they are bravely going after The Man.

No, they are not picketing Amazon- they are picketing the only independent bookstore in a small town. Non-white, lesbian-owned and marginalized in ways that frankly are unthinkable for most of them- although sadly enough, it appears at times you're on that road.

If they picket that independent bookstore, if they scream at the customers leaving that they are racist for having the privilege to buy books- then those customers stop coming, and that bookstore can no longer donate to the community. It can no longer hire marginalized creators, or offer discounts to marginalized customers, or stock items that are only of interest to marginalized customers. All things Nukit has a long track record of doing. This is not brave activism of the marginalized- this is a selfish tantrum that harms all the people who rely on that business.

Most of the other filtration and Far-UVC companies are owned by white, male millionaires. None have ever donated anything to anyone, none have ever acted to help Black or disabled members of our community, none have made constant contributions to Open Source for the collective good. None of them were attacked similarly.

Being "nice" is never a condition of support or doing the right thing, but if you willfully render a company physically and financially unable to help the community, what do you expect to happen? I can and will still help if they scream at me- but not if they drain my bank accounts.

This portion of the COVID community chooses to go after the one, single ally in manufacturing the community had—and for the most part, the community has been too timid to push back, to show the receipts that prove the slander, to speak up to preserve that business model and keep it viable so that people in need, could get what no one else has any interest in providing them.

The COVID community, as a whole, chose to show every company providing mitigation tech what they can expect if they donate to Mask Blocs or engage in any way. They've shown it's a PR disaster waiting to happen, with no upside to balance the risk.

You had one, single company working hard to get you affordable mitigation solutions- one company making regular donations. A choice was made to make that non-viable.

For some of you that was an active choice, for others it was a choice made by timid silence in the face of gross injustice and clear slander, or ongoing support and follows of the people engaged in such. That not on the political or medical establishment- there's no one else to blame for that, the community was not hard done by. They did this to themselves. They had tools in hand and chose to beat up the toolmaker. They repeated the same mistake they denounced daily in others- putting sentiment before solutions. Their feelings were more important than other's lives.

After what happened, the COVID-Aware community lost any grounds to ever utter a word of complaint again about the cost of mitigations or their accessibility. They had it, but they didn't fight to keep it or even speak up to defend it; they let that structure get burned to the ground for every company that might have ever stepped up to witness; that's on them.

From here, Nukit will do as suggested and conduct itself more professionally in line with industry norms. Whatever needs the community has, they should petition those multimillion-dollar companies to meet.

Currently, a group of Princeton University students in Princeton New Jersey are embarking on a hunger strike until the college fulfills their demands regarding the conflict in Gaza, Palestine war from Israel. The student protestors have declared that they will abstain from all food and drinks except water until the following demands are met: complete immunity from criminal charges, a full cultural boycott of Israel, and divestment from Israel along with other demands

i will continue to take covid mitigations but the way i have even contributed to unnecessary rude behavior to people who do not do covid protocol perfectly is ridiculous. i do not want to come off as this behavior is normal.

For the record every mask bloc that applied before April 27th when I sent the last batch out got a set of Torches. The only exception was Canada because I can't send them there and Ireland because I'd already donated a set. No one was asked to wait or excluded.

If people had thought beyond their immediate personal frustration to the work being done, not just my products but the products of companies that choose to emulate Nukit's donations to stay competitive and visible, would probably have found their way to every Mask Bloc. That is now very unlikely.

It was a remarkably selfish and destructive misinformation campaign waged against one of our most effective tools that people in desperate need who did nothing wrong will inevitably pay for.

I am asking community to ASK these people questions! When someone is typically using words like “harm” & “abuse” it is to replace situations that are too painful to speak on. In this case they want you to hear “harm” or “abuse” to avoid having to actually define what they mean.

I was there was JMase was ambushed on an online call infront of 10+ people about stealing a speed friending/dating idea. The call embodied no type of abolition practices and has been the start of Lluvia, Viv, and Sapphire trying to dismantle covid communities for weeks.
