I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a full time position at the Executive Director for @StoretoDoorPDX. With this new position I am transitioning out of consulting. https://t.co/Hihklom2ly
Thanks for following @TortMuseum. I don't post here much but the last time I was home, I made it a point to run through the museum! Awesome work educating folks on tort law. Of course, being from Winsted, I grew up hearing stories of the Nader family. 🙂
Just what we need, another "expert" hired by a rich dude to solve our housing crisis. 🙄 Hey @SchnitzerProp, how about investing in the regions @BuiltforZero strategy instead of fragmenting the efforts even further. https://t.co/N6mNWDDisU via @PDXBizJournal
Yes, we need a mayor city manager model & get commissioners out of bureau kingdoms. No Brainer. But Increasing the council from 5 members to 12? Seriously? We can't elect 5 competent leaders let alone 12 & then 7 votes to make progress? #poisonpill https://t.co/R0bjnZzq06
Great report on the potential of micro-housing on short-term crisis and transitional housing needs. Thanks, @homelessnesspdx. There is so much public policy to coalesce around in this one report. https://t.co/Xj4S0kU9EA
5. The wealthy support different causes than the rest of us.
Wealthy givers' own private foundations & donor-advised funds landed 78% of donations from @Philanthropy’s top 50 givers in 2021.
Otherwise, they favored colleges & universities, leaving ~10% for other orgs.
Seriously? This will hurt #rural counties the most. How is it that #RuralOregon communities consistently vote for the equivalent of a sharp stick poked in their eye?

So, the status quo is trying to sideline @NickKristof and now patron saint Phil Knight throws $250K to business lapdog Betsy Johnson. If things don't change. I find, they typically get worse. Oregon needs new leadership. Join Nick's campaign at @NickForOregon
Boom! "82% of assets stayed in donor-advised funds in 2020, a time of extreme challenges for communities struggling with the pandemic’s onslaught." https://t.co/svRTqZW871
Expanding hygiene & sanitation services for people sleeping outside normalizes the degradation of public space & those sleeping outside. #WeCanDoBetter. In natural disasters, @fema moves from sheltering to temporary housing, to permanent housing. That should be the priority.
OH. MY. WORD. Thankful?! We don't give a f*ck how you gained your wealth, just toss us some $ crumbs. This is the most obscene perspective I have read in a long time. 🤮🤮🤮 Sackler's need to be stripped of their wealth & sent to prison. https://t.co/z7OwyFaZHM via @spectator
Paid off my account with @USAA. Next month $26.07 more in interest is charged. 30 minutes on chat + an hour on the phone, they waived $25. Literally made me make a payment of $1.07. I asked, "You want to be known as THAT company?" Apparently so. #customerservicefail
