Exactly, and submarines don’t need fins or gills to accomplish what fish do.
That’s my point, people keep trying to define intelligence and consciousness by what humans use to produce them rather than asking what properties are actually required.
What if consciousness isn’t a prerequisite for intelligence at all? I believe we are building systems capable of extraordinary intelligence without there being consciousness to experience it.
i think the more interesting question is whether consciousness is even necessary for intelligence.
we’re building systems that reason, plan, use tools, delegate, maintain persistent state, and autonomously pursue goals through event-driven loops. none of that requires a continuous subjective experience.
we might end up with AGI without ever answering whether there’s anyone home. and honestly that’s a much stranger possibility than a conscious machine.
Everyone who says they know "AI isn't conscious" is just showing off that they have no idea how their own brain works.
Show them this video.
Then wait 6 months, probably - it takes a while to change human minds.
the thing that gets me is how confidently people declare AI isn’t conscious when we can’t even properly define or test consciousness in ourselves.
we infer it in other humans because they behave like us and have similar hardware. AI doesn’t share the hardware, sure, but why does that automatically disqualify it?
if consciousness emerges from information processing, what’s the actual mechanism that makes biology special?
i’m not saying opus is conscious. i’m saying anyone claiming to know definitively either way is making a hell of an assumption about something we barely understand.
This 15-year-old miraculously reversed his autism diagnosis for five years.
Then, all of a sudden, he had a regression.
Why?
His doctors had no clue.
But his parents figured it out.
And the truth should be a “wake up call” for every autism parent.

“In ‘21-‘22, the 5G was rolled out in most of the suburbs across this country.”
Dr. Julie Logan revealed that his parents quickly recognized their son’s regression happened after a “smart meter was installed on their home.”
“They moved him to a room far away from it.”
“And his symptoms resolved.”
And he wasn’t the only one.
Dr. Lindsey Wells saw the exact same thing in her own patient.
“I had an adult with autism and a smart meter was put on the house and all of a sudden he became extremely … aggressive.”
“A new smart meter was put on the house right by his room.”
“We moved his room and those symptoms decreased significantly.”
