DRY Principle ("Don't Repeat Yourself) for documentation in code:

Programmers are taught that code needs comments, unfortunately, they are never told why code needs comments. Bad code needs a lot of comments.
The DRY principle tells us to keep low-level knowledge in the code

and reserve the comments for other, high-level explanations. Otherwise, we are duplicating knowledge, and every change means changing both the code and comments.
