Ok... a bit of California politics which annoys me because at face value it's well meaning, but poorly thought out.
In California @SenHenryStern has introduced a bill SB1505 which he's pitching as a way to make people with private jets cover the excessive environmental impact. Which in principle is a nice goal, but in his plan of execution it's a failure. It specifically *excludes* the largest polluters from the law, and instead targets a tiny sliver of small aircraft owners.
Charter operators (part 135) are excluded, and as it happens many people who 'own' private jets actually run then as part 135 operations to offset the cost. So most celebrities zipping around the state on private jets won't be covered.
And then there's me, who flies a tiny plane that gets better gas mileage than the best selling cars from Ford & GM - but I'll have to pay extra under this ill considered scheme if it become law.
I'll be letting my local representatives know about these problems @AsmConnolly@ilike_mike
@Jameses797@angertab Yt struck them resulting in a 7 day ban. They'll be back this next Monday. I'd be curious if yt explained exactly what they deemed as against their "code". I'm really missing the lives.
@bobpockrass If Larson had wrecked (cut a tire or something) causing a caution after the white had been waved, would he still win with the current rule set?
@NWSMilwaukee Will the storms southwest of waukesha coalesce into a straight line or would we be looking at more potential for discrete stronger tornados storms
