@FortressLugh The mindset of many of the saga protagonists is also not very Christian. Egil's Saga has the casual killing of a slave, Egil's mother is very proud of him when at 7 he kills an older boy with an axe to the head after a knattleik dispute just off the top of my head.

@cornu__copia The Lutheran church here is a lot like Shinto I feel. The rituals are scrupulously observed but the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed corporally for the entire congregation before you kneel at the altar to receive the Eucharist. It functions more like a public utility company. 🤔
