It's not rocket science, folks...🤷♂️
Congrats to the four public school boys 🏀 teams that won state titles today by overcoming the advantages that most private & some charter school teams possess – along with disproving the theory that private schools operate with superior coaching & culture. It was a spectacular day!
Below are the 2025-26 #ClubVsCommunity totals heading into the final week of the girls 🏀 tourney. We'll fill in the baseball & softball results in the spring.
For those who believe yesterday's boys 🏀 championship game results prove that public schools are not at a disadvantage against private schools with similar enrollments, you may want to focus on more than just four games. Below is a look at the last three boys' tournaments. The numbers speak for themselves!

Private school teams went 15-7 against public schools in last night's MHSAA girls 🏀 regional semifinals and the average margin of victory was 20.9 points. 😳 Yes, the numbers speak for themselves!

Confusing regular-season scheduling and post-season classification is a great way to announce that you don't understand the #ClubVsCommunity conversation.
Schools schedule competitive, local & rival non-conference games during the regular season.
The issue is post-season structure – where private schools benefit from advantages enrollment doesn't capture.
Different conversations.
Same denial.
*And, yes, @RunCoach341 & @howie3232, this post is about you. May your miserable existence receive a 🛟 today. 😂
Put NYS privates in their own playoffs
NYS public school teams making rosters inside district maps, let NYS lawmakers know you want a playoff against teams making rosters the same way. This website allows you msg lawmakers to pass Bill A10121.

An informal but revealing exercise:
One hundred athletic directors across Michigan were asked whether private schools have an advantage over similarly-enrolled public schools, and, if so, whether a competitive balance plan should be considered by the MHSAA.
Every respondent said "yes" to both questions, although there was nuance as one AD emphasized "some" private schools and the multiple solutions were not one-size-fits-all.
This is exactly why the MHSAA should survey its membership and not rely solely on championship results. There's a big problem here and it's getting ignored.
Good governance starts with listening...and the MHSAA membership deserves a voice!

Didn't think of this product -- and surely Midland Dow & Portage Central deserve consideration -- but I have no problem with Dexter making this claim. At the very least, the private schools in their way should've been Unity Christian & Divine Child and not OLSM.

@CoachKWard@NCAAWrestling 1 point pushout. It will lead to less stalling and more throws.
Eliminate the crossface. I see it used as much to cause pain as to improve position. Also, I'm seeing it "thrown" and even causing concussions. Go ahead and freak out.
The school boards at North Branch and Durand passed the Fair Playoffs resolution. Ask your school board to step up and support their public school athletes. @MHSAA@Hugeshow@michiganhsfca https://t.co/OraTf7GS9r
@3pointpod@BWWings@CorunnaCavsFB@GRCC_CougarsFB You should consider covering the Fair Playoffs movement on your podcast. Go to https://t.co/3tHMEiL6JO for more information. I'd be willing to join for an interview. -Chad Phillips
