This is private equity, this is what it does.
Buy up businesses, run them into the ground, and rip them apart for short-term profit.
The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity - and the federal support - to buy it and run it themselves.
And if we want to avoid the Mass Effect effect in Canada, we should be keeping private equity out, not welcoming it in.

@jroberts332 Could it be in response to being required to retain the special teams uk debut as a dream following their US introduction? That he objected to the constrains that the US story put on his UK work? Only my guesswork.

BREAKING๐จ A Michigan nurse lost her job and now faces up to a year in federal prison because a patient with a bloodied face walked out of the hospital before ICE could take him.
Chloe Freeman, a registered nurse at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital, is charged with "instigating or assisting escape," which carries up to a year in prison. She has pleaded not guilty. She goes back to federal court in Detroit on October 20.
On May 28, Border Patrol agents went after a Mexican man in Ann Arbor. The agents say he ran, tripped over a curb and hit his face on the pavement. He was bleeding from the head when they brought him to the hospital, where staff saw in his paperwork that he was in ICE custody.
After his CT scan, the FBI says Freeman took out his IV and walked him to the ambulance bay. Security footage shows him going out the doors with his face bandaged and bloody. Nobody has found him since.
When the hospital questioned her in June, Freeman said she disagreed with ICE "separating people from their families." She said that with injuries like his, he "could have died." She also said no agents were in the room during the scan, so she didn't believe he was in custody at that point. Even the prosecutors' own announcement says agents stayed with him only until he was moved to imaging.
Trinity Health fired her. She has since moved away.
Shahad Atiya, an immigration attorney and law professor, said she has never seen this charge used in immigration cases, as Ruta Ulcinaite first reported in WXYZ Detroit (ABC 7). She expects it to become "a new set of charges" aimed at anyone who helps immigrants.
Prosecutors charged a misdemeanor, not a felony. That means no grand jury ever had to approve the case. Grand juries in Los Angeles and Chicago have refused to indict anti-ICE protesters on felony charges.
A petition calling for the charge to be dropped warns it tells healthcare workers that "showing compassion for a patient could cost them their freedom and their career." Nurses and hospital workers are being asked to show up at the Detroit courthouse on October 20 in their scrubs and lab coats.

A former Wagner fighter, now in Ukrainian captivity, said Russian mercenaries in Mali used captured Africans as live subjects for brutal "tactical medicine training."
In 2023-2024, Russian instructors deliberately maimed African prisoners, after which the mercenaries practiced stopping bleeding.
Explosives were strapped to one prisonerโs leg and detonated. Russians then practiced applying a tourniquet and bandaging the wound.
Another prisoner was shot in an artery near the armpit, while another was used for knife training - Russians practiced stabbing a person in the heart.
Another prisoner had his leg chopped off with an axe.
According to the Russian mercenary, all of the prisoners died during these "training exercises."
He was in Mali from September 2023 to April 2024. After returning to Russia, he signed a contract with the Russian defense ministry in 2025 and later joined the GRUโs 14th separate special forces brigade. He was captured while fighting against Ukraine.
