Isn’t this the norm? More people work for a paycheck than for anything else + a lot of ppl don’t feel like chasing a passion is doable bc bills gotta get paid first
Normalize a job being just a job, not a passion or lifestyle or dream career.
I like my job, I enjoy my team, I have a good boss. But at the end of the day I'm there to make money.
It’s very weird to see y’all dunk on teachers, social workers, therapists, etc when they say they can’t survive on their salary, telling them they should’ve picked a more lucrative career but in the same breath say “we need more teachers! we need more therapists!”
Warning: If I tell you “next week I’ll be less busy” please remind me this has never been true. This mythical next week does not arrive, it just hovers out of frame, a fantasy of time and space where I’ll be able to say yes to plans, receding into the distance as I reach for it
