swift devs will make a derivative of proprietary software in swift unnecessarily add some extra fluidity and then charge you $50 for it when the original is free
@fortured_reign you can always go the route of pissing off twitter users i guess and make mutuals with the people who agree with you but thats just deceitful
We've been early adopters of Rust since 2018 and a lot of our infra, voice tech, and even some of the current client is already Rust, the holy grail was getting the whole client there. That means Electron goes away, and so does React Native, mobile keeps native UI but shares app code with desktop via Rust. We hope to get it into testing with users soon™. (And it's not Tauri, it's GPUI, so good guess everyone.)
Alright, back to staring at the WoW Forever login screen.
this stuff ive been seeing about the virtual desktop dev is just peak human assholery lol
update that makes functioning app non functioning for a niche subset of users, incredible. I will continue loving my Steam Frame and PICO 4 Enterprise for what they are
@BlooberryFox they interpreted "we're not adding a label or filter" as the worst thing to ever be read by their human eyes
No dont harrass EITHER group for how they view ai usage, an honor system will literally never work when theres anyone with ill intent
I don't hate a nigga that makes constant terrible takes, but I hate when they are so pretentious, confident, and so damn close-minded about their shitty takes. Huge difference.
I'm fine with AI disclosure, but only if we can answer one question: where is the line?
How can we accurately distinguish between AI-assisted games and non-AI-assisted games, and who decides when it becomes slop?
There will be games that are 100% vibe-coded top to bottom, but will take their creator thousands of hours to make into a masterpiece. There will be games that AI hasn't touched at all that will be lazily put together and released, and will flop. And of course there will be everything in between these two extremes.
How can there ever be a filter that gets you exactly what you are looking for when this is the case? The answer is that there can't be, and it doesn't matter what platform you go to for the answer. Itch, Steam, Epic, or any other, none of them will ever be able to solve this.
Stop trying to divide games up into sections, let the market do what it has always done, and let good games surface to the top to find their base.
