@Bda_co Just hit me on another thread that if they activate Teel 9/1 or after, they probably are forced to keep 3 catchers initially. Which stinks. But if the other 8 spots are locked in, who cares
@scottmerkin In a week they can add 2 players, 1 being a pitcher. I think Romo and Rogers out of options, so if you activate Teel before 9/1 you lose one of them. After 9/1 you can keep all 3 and make sure Kyle fully healthy.
@McCannSportsLaw Understood…it was my impression that most of the NIL money has already been doled out.
(I also assumed the alumni network would hook up a former player with a job making closer to $100k)
@McCannSportsLaw Honest question: if someone graduated from college and started a job, why would they go back to college?
It makes sense for someone who didn’t graduate or wants to go to grad school maybe.
@BenVerlander My guess is other teams just lacked the overall prospect depth of the Dodgers, and with a work stoppage almost a guarantee, MLB ready prospects become more valuable not accruing service time, so they hoard them.
@ZachOsterman One issue I have is that we use “sports betting” as a single black and white act. There should levels of severity. Did you bet on your own sport? Your own league? Your own team?
