Yes b/c raising shouldn't be about any of those signals.
If you have early traction/proof, a clear & understandable vision (and execution plan), and a believable TAM...you can prob. raise.
Just takes a lot of time/work (usually distracting from *actually* building the business)
Picture a 2026 founder who
- didn’t work at a faang
- didn’t go to an Ivy League
- doesn’t know any investors
- didn’t reach a substantial revenue milestone on past business
Be honest.
Is it possible for them to fundraise?
@martyamark Rather than free - you can also start super cheap. $7 for lifetime version without ads...or $0.99/month without ads...free has ads or at min. usage limit (e.g. 3 blogs to kindle at a time).
It's all about the gating...and then the money/value to un-gating...
@martyamark This is where you prob. just need to pivot your revenue model (vs. the product).
People want the thing but don't want to pay...so you need to find something that subsidizes the user.
usually ads (injected into the reading experience) or user/usage data (marketing graph data)...
Ditto.
Personal is Julio, Rison, White, Mathis, London (London is likely going to keep moving up the list, but is already top 5).
But objectively White should be ahead of Rison in most lists.
@RiseUpReader Definitely number 2 WR all-time. Personally I rank Andre Rison ahead of him only because I became a fan then but realistically Roddy is 2. Drake should be there before long. Drake could even beat out Julio if he has a healthy long career and gets a dependable QB.
Different people have different skills, motivations, & goals.
Personally I'm more a 0 -> 1 guy myself. I enjoy the chaos, challenge, & energy of it.
But in my exp. the money usually *is* better in 1 -> 100.

The #1 mistake indie devs make with product launches? Starting marketing AFTER they build.

@680TheFan You bring in Geno to teach, you bring in Murray to compete, you bring in Tua to rehabilitate, you bring Flacco to tick a box without ruffling feathers.
So...what is the team *really* looking to do?
It’s easier than ever to write code…
And yet the hard parts of software engineering are still *very hard*
Don’t get discouraged by the hype. There’s still so much to learn and build.
What he means is "give up on the right things".
It's not one idea or one project through all those years...it's the commitment to the process & the journey that you shouldn't give up on.
Just to recap.
- Falcons ended 8-9 (out of the playoffs)
- I lost $140 via FanDuel over the course of the season
- I don't really care about any teams in playoffs
...but...
- Falcons swept the Saints
- The new year, along with org. changes, always brings hope for "next season"
@r4m3nj33zu5 @czook4@RicflairsFather The call on the field was actually against 71 (they said he held Jame Pierce Jr.).
Technically it was holding...but there is holding on every single play if you go by the technical definition.
This wasn't egregious so (even as a Falcons fan) I agree it was a pretty BS call.
@680TheFan@BFinn86@JohnMichaelsU@HometeamBleak Probably -- but they shouldn't.
Coaches need to put the player's they've got avail. in a position to succeed.
I get that we've got limited depth/issues, but this staff (from top-to-bottom really) has FAILED to adjust *anything* based on personnel all season.
This extends to the human experience as a whole.
Complex things -- items, experiences, emotions -- tend to require at least some form of failure before you find true success.
(without failure -- the thing cannot be defined or understood as 'complex' in your mind)
It's weird how difficult it is to buy anything at all complicated without making a few mistakes at first. No amount of preliminary research seems to be sufficient. You always end up buying a few lemons before you figure out what you're doing.
I'm happy for the Falcons victory
But I think it actually says *way* more about how much of a slump Tampa is in lately than it does anything about the Falcons.
We did not play good football. We did not win that game...they lost that game.
@carrielynnxox Like I've got a colonoscopy about to start (and am about to be required to chug a gallon of MiraLAX to prep)
...let's just get this thing over with already. *sigh*
@680TheFan@JohnMichaelsU@BFinn86@HometeamBleak Coaches need to understand player strengths & weaknesses to put 'em in the best position to succeed
They "become bad coaches" when they stop focusing on understanding the pieces they have & creating game plans that help hide the weaknesses (& highlight the emerging strengths)
We lit. only had one position this season that has been steady, stable, and reliable.
...so of course we had to mix in a little turmoil and random drama into that now too.
I've seen a lot of bad coaching & leadership through the years...but *this* year is some next level sh*t.
Running backs coach Michael Pitre will miss tonight’s game due to a personal matter
Offensive assistants K.J. Black and Patrick Kramer will fill his role for tonight’s game
