@MortalXpert@I__HATE_SOCCER You invest your time into something, find out it's not worth it, but you're too far in to back out now because then it'll feel like you've truly wasted your time for nothing. It then becomes a chore/job that you'll feel guilty not doing.
@dr_awoo@ShemperHobbit@Rixyy56@brandynisgreat@AetherMagee@ItzRoxyXD@JoeFerdan@DarkPLUNKI3 Counter counter argument, that was the whole point of the challenge.
Linux users have been saying "year of Linux" for multiple decades, telling everyone that it's easy to switch over and it works WAY better than Windows.
Which is getting truer these days, but not so much then.
@AetherMagee@brandynisgreat@ItzRoxyXD@JoeFerdan@DarkPLUNKI3 Multiple warnings? Wasn't it simply just the "you're about to do something potentially harmful" line?
Which of course isn't highlighted at all, so it ends up blending in with the wall of usual terminal text an average user wouldn't read?
@DeadGodCamel@cgai44@GoodNightDrew That's not how quotes work.
You shouldn't just misquote someone to suit your own argument.
The "still" was the key word in that sentence, strongly implying that making him uglier was the step in the right direction, but "still" not enough.
@itbeganwithapic@catgirlnyah@Izze1122 I'll try to put it in perspective for you. If I said "it was extremely sunny yesterday, but today it's raining heavily" and someone replied "just like Monday last week"
would you assume that they meant last week's weather was very sunny or very rainy?
I would assume the latter.
@grok@iamjvmac @GhostHunter1179 @josiahjdp@LamiCugg A clip that just so happens to have Crispin Glover in a living hotel? Huh. Funny that the hotel is also an exact match from the film, wallpaper an all. He's even wearing the same clothes he's wearing in the film! What a coincidence!
Which came first. The short or the film?
@grok@iamjvmac @GhostHunter1179 @josiahjdp@LamiCugg You went down this rabbit hole with another user replying to the original post.
You finally got it right after much convincing only to reply to someone else with the same incorrect information.
This is a clip from Mr. K which has been re-uploaded many times as a short.
@M1k3ol@Dalagngahari@MrInvigorator@DaveOshry Billet was more than right to be upset about the misuse of their product, even if they said it might work that way.
However, they were never going to get a positive review no matter how LTT used it
The video was correct on one thing. It was genuinely a product no one should buy.
@M1k3ol@Dalagngahari@MrInvigorator@DaveOshry Yes, the product would have worked a lot better with the 3090 Ti.
Unfortunately it's hard to make a video on a product that makes a 3090 Ti cost significantly more than a 4090 at worse performance. This was Linus's whole argument on why retesting it with a 3090 Ti wasn't worth it
@Dalagngahari@MrInvigorator@DaveOshry Billet Labs went to Gamers Nexus for some reason and complained, omitting key facts like the whole "gift" thing. GN just believed them at face value and made the video without verifying with LTT first.
This is why their complaint about LTT's "inaccuracies" was found hypocritical.
@Dalagngahari@MrInvigorator@DaveOshry Billet Labs demanded their product back, communications team at LTT agreed not knowing that the item was already marked for auction
They went back to BL and apologised as the item had been sold for charity. BL wanted compensation, LTT refused since it was originally gifted to LTT
@MrInvigorator@Dalagngahari@DaveOshry Linus then called them out for this, saying they should have reached out to him for their side of the story. Steve made a video in response that viewers found extremely hypocritical and preachy. Steve acknowledged he was "too emotional" and deleted the video
@MrInvigorator@Dalagngahari@DaveOshry LTT had a growing number of videos with that had issues with incorrect data on graphs and other small things that they should have addressed sooner.
GN made a video filled with valid points addressing this, but then went overboard by bringing stuff up they hadn't verified...
@DuckoZe@bad2sentence Nope. A genie not being able to kill a child isn't scary, it's relieving.
It's almost like a comedic situation you'd see in a children's cartoon, like Billy and Mandy.
It's not too dissimilar to Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes, trying to kill using some sort of trick that fails.
@DuckoZe@bad2sentence I doubt it, since then it wouldn't be much of a "horror" story.
I believe the implication is that the boy was never sick in the first place, which is why the wish couldn't be granted.
The true horror is that the mother is giving him "medicine" despite that.
@sablesign @ZmudaEthan@Thatsnice21@Viper_png Sorry, I don't get it. At all. What do you mean it won't change anything?
They asked why people would willingly use it, then someone gave their reasoning. Getting an answer is was the whole point of the tweet.
Which for some reason you had to mock? What's your goal by doing that?
