@BellewTrudy I know what people are arguing about, I just assumed everyone knew what the trick was at this point. This type of problem has been done so many times and its the exact same each time
before checking the original post I only saw people dunking on the ambiguous ÷ notation on the tl, I did not expect this to be a genuinely serious debate...... wow
@Not_Gilmore@rowanfornow I wouldn't say it only comes up in modular arithmetic though, its frequently used anytime you want to do something involving Euclidean division (when working with polynomial rings, for instance)
@GalliumGD@rowanfornow I agree, I was referring to the fact that this kind of question is still causing debate. I'd have thought we all agreed at this point that this kind of problem is just being ambiguous (or at the very least confusing) on purpose for engagement
like there's actual people in the quotes talking about voting rights and how we're doomed as a species over this, surely it can't be that serious?? it's obviously just a deliberately ambiguous question, there's nothing mathematical about it at all
@serais_ferais@rieszspieces tbf some of the responses seem to be undergrad/postgrad level, I think there were some people mentioning complex analysis and gauge theory
@aridyen was wondering this as well, it's undoubtedly a good thing that more people are showing their love of math but it does feel a bit sad to not find discussions other than elementary differentiation rules
imo this is an interesting duel because the back-and-forth between the god cards was genuinely some of the best duel writing in yugioh but then the plays started making less and less sense towards the end
@LavenderMacar0n@FarfaYGO a Fusion deck that can also perform Synchro plays despite its own locks is arguably much more original than a Fusion deck that only plays Fusions
when creating fanwork, how do you deal with the fear that no one will actually read/watch the project you've spent all your time on? is there a better way to think about it
this isn't even an indictment of the quality of duel writing necessarily, it's just something you'll inevitably run into when coming up with a script (almost) each week
In GX's case there's even a running theme with these being support cards for the individual E. Heroes
this is something that comes up often when talking about GX duels and it's always been a bit confusing IMO since hyper-specific cards have never been inherent to GX, and GX doesn't even have that much more of this type of card compared to other series
Its so funny the GX writers were like,
"Hey you know Sakuretsu Armor? The massive downgrade from Mirror Force?
Well what if we made it the most situational card in history... but added Ookazi to it."
