@Alchamee1 One thing that would help; people setting expectations; Tell me if you want to go blind, or if you want help, or when you want to stop being blind and have a mechanic explained. I've had a lot of people want to start blind then at some point change their expectations without 1/
@KayinNasaki I think I got hung up with a "Lot", and since I run in political circles a lot, that has kind of a dog whistle to me as "broad strokes application to EVERYONE" usually under false pretenses. I basically forgot to take off my own filter.
@KayinNasaki You're probably right about us agreeing more, the main thing I was painting as conceited was the kind of overly broad brush you're using to illustrate your opening point with, that's all. (I then let the thread get ahead of me. :c )
@KayinNasaki Someone who grew up in the 80s-90s will have a radically different relationship with gaming because they matured with it as a medium (also maturing), and that does infact do something. When you keep maturing and your medium largely stops, it makes you question things a bit.
Security teams, I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that executives are suddenly very interested in security controls.
The bad news is, they're not interested for reasons you probably hoped when you dreamed this day might come...
Okay, I'm just going to throw this out there, but maybe - just maybe - a vendor having the ability to change every one of their kernel drivers in the field at the same time without any approval from IT/end users is a model we need to reconsider... @CrowdStrike.
@SwiftOnSecurity This has been the big question on my mind, the sheer number of devices locked behind bitlocker, and their keys are stuck behind locked down DCs.
To clarify - this work around _only_ works if you have access to your bitlocker keys since it's enabled on windows enterprise in most cases. If you are using a windows server system and crowdstrike, evens to odds you're locked outta that too, because bitlocker keys
#Crowdstrike
1/The global IT outage caused by a failed Crowdstrike software update can apparently be fixed by booting Windows into Safe Mode and deleting a file. This means millions of Windows machines need to be booted and fixed by hand.
@hughriminton The workaround also requires bitlocker keys, which in many cases are stored on the servers currently locked down by... Bit locker and crowdstrike.
