Death is a release from the impressions of the senses, and from desires that make us their puppets, and from the vagaries of the mind, and from the hard service
@yeetfse@aulineboards And especially when I have seen tick toks of people in the medical community that state they support mistreating people that demonstrate support for trump or conservatives, not even outright transphobia.
@yeetfse@aulineboards Then wouldn't it stand to reason that just because someone is a transphobe, doesn't mean they will mistreat or he mean to a trans person in a medical setting? Especially when transphobe label is used on someone who simply doesn't think a man can become a woman.
@RahulRanganath1@DDayCobra@AngryJoeShow Should we not pay attention to the trailers, articles, interviews, casting decisions, or anything else put out about a movie leading up to its release?
@libsoftiktok@JasmineForUS It is interesting because the company I work for gets federal contracts. And one stipulation in those contracts is to use minority owned businesses when using vendors. The government writes that assistance in to contracts, dictating who we do business with.
@UoonieNebula140@ronnieagabajr But why? Why not just accept that trans women are trans women and are male? Push for that to be a separate and accepted class of people rather than changing definitions for everything else? And then expecting society to reorient around it?
@UoonieNebula140@ronnieagabajr And sure, language changes, but this is a heavily pushed for change on terms that have specific meaning and ties to a biological reality. And not only without a suitable replacement, but with a design to obfuscate that reality away.
@UoonieNebula140@ronnieagabajr I think that dodges a little. How would you define them? And how does that definition hold up and communicate? When you refer to woman, what does it mean? What does female mean?
@UoonieNebula140@ronnieagabajr If female no longer mean those people, what should I use to refer to those people? And why should I use some new term rather than the one that already exists?
@UoonieNebula140@ronnieagabajr There are people that are born with a uterus, ovaries, and will go through a typical puberty that will result in fertility, growth of breasts, and heightened estrogen levels. We have a word for this: female. You can change the meaning of the word, but those people still exist.
