Macbook can be gaming laptop. That crazy that my laptop have similar performance in gaming as my gaming pc while macbook have to make it work via rosetta 2. I'm wondering how good would it be if the games for PC would support ARM already.
Last week Gothic Remake was released.
I was a huge fan of Gothic as a kid, but I had to wait to play it. I was on holiday with no access to my Windows PC, and there's no macOS support.
I played for two days (super fun game), but again I can't finish it, because I'm leaving Poland for 1.5 weeks.
So I decided to try playing it on my MacBook.
I found some videos showing the game working via CrossOver, but I'm not spending $75 to play for 1.5 weeks.
Then it hit me: CrossOver is basically just a Wine wrapper, it's probably not doing much more than Wine does.
I found Sikarugir, but it was already crashing when it tried to create the container.
Normally I'd have given up there, but we live in magical times, so I fired up Claude and we fixed every problem in 20 minutes.
It runs at 60 FPS on Ultra with AMD FSR and frame generation.
The fans are loud as fuck, but it's playable. If anyone wants to replicate it, here's the GitHub repo: https://t.co/IB0Ox9jxcZ
@lennardeth I only looks if they have verified payment, so even if they don't pay you (and you did the job) the upwork will cover the payment for you. I also check they review etc. I had a few clients who was totally dickheads, so don't want to experience that again
