At #HRC62, #Maldives delivered a statement during the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Climate Change, underscoring the link between food security, climate resilience and the realisation of human rights.
#Maldives also highlighted the national pole-and-line tuna fishery as an example of sustainable fisheries management, demonstrating how locally grounded approaches can strengthen resilience while supporting livelihoods. Further emphasising the importance of community-led adaptation and resilient food systems, #Maldives called for strengthened international cooperation, including grant-based climate finance, technology transfer, and support for locally driven solutions.
