Sad pictures from Gaza: They wrap babies in foil and put them next to hot water
Premature babies at Gaza’s largest Al-Shifa hospital are being wrapped in foil and placed next to hot water in a desperate bid to keep them alive, the hospital director has warned, as Israeli forces continue to operate on the surrounding streets.

Al-Shifa Hospital staff are struggling to keep infants alive after oxygen supplies ran out and they had to manually transfer the babies from the neonatal unit incubator to another part of the hospital.

"I've been with them a while ago. We took them out of the incubator. "We wrap them in foil and put hot water next to them to warm them," said the director of the medical center Dr. Muhamed Abu Salmia to Al Arabi Television.

In the photos, according to CNN, you can see several newborn babies being taken out of the incubator and lying helplessly on the bed.

The doctor also said that several children have already died in the intensive care unit.

Health authorities accuse Israel of such a tragic situation, which is constantly bombing and blocking Gaza. Gaza itself was an impoverished and densely populated territory even before the attack.

Ministry spokesperson Dr Ashraf al-Qidra said the hospital complex is "out of order" after being repeatedly targeted by Israeli fire.

An Israeli military spokesman told CNN that his forces were engaged in "intense combat" against Hamas near the hospital complex, but denied shooting at a medical center in northern Gaza and dismissed criticism that the hospital was under siege.
