BJP is in a lot of pain, their primary weapon of propaganda - the godi media - has been demolished. Its credibility is in tatters. This post shows that pain. He also misleads when he equates the act of people appreciating the work done by journalists on the ground as being equivalent to the journalists being aligned with the protest. Both are not the same, he knows, but its his job.
But more importantly, this collage that he's attached to his post is an attempt to warn the journalists that they're being watched.
These independent journalists, some of who worked round the clock, brought important information to the public square which ensured that the legacy media couldn't run its agenda this time. People's voices and their pain was heard, and it made many people sympathise with the movement. Till very recently, the legacy media would successfully turn public opinion against all protests, repeatedly, whether it was CAA-NRC or farmers protest. This time, they couldn't do it.
Support independent media, support democracy.
@sidhant The TV media which ghosted the youth protest till now is lining up to interview the protestors. Not the other way round. Smell the coffee, Mr. Sibal. Andh Bhakti has a shelf life.
@Amar236236236@vivekagnihotri Incorrect. As an expat, I've stayed away from Indian TV since last 5 yrs+. The real journalists and source of unbiased Indian content are independent YouTube channels.
@svembu Since you're earning 90% of your revenue from outside, at least treat your onsite support staff with respect and dignity. Teach them etiquette, how to dress well and carry themselves in a corporate environment. Specially your Dubai office staff.
@GabbbarSingh The honest journalists were lauded, applauded and respected by the crowd. Time you learnt the difference between a good journalist and a sellout propagandist. The latter is your ilk, anyways.
🚨Was @USAmbIndia involved in Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation?
🚨Did America just pull off a partial regime change in India by ‘guiding’ @Cockroachisback
🚨 Stunning clams by @republic’s Arnab - will he now ask Amit Shah to explain this security breach?
🚨Has @narendramodi Govt become so weak that foreign influence can guide and create such massive protests in India and engineer resignations of Union Ministers?!
🚨 If there is an iota of truth in what Ornob is saying then @DrSJaishankar should step down immediately.
PM @narendramodi has set a new world record for the most views on an Instagram Reel within 24 hours, with over 303 million views.
The previous record stood at 300 million views.
Hello @GitanjaliAngmo, do you and @Wangchuk66 own this movement that you feel that you can dictate how this movement should go forward? There were many other students who were also fasting at the same time, do you hear them talking in the same tone, as if they own the movement?
And what does it mean by don't politicise? Are political parties of this country not part of the democratic space of this country? @Wangchuk66 is quite happy to deal with BJP and their leaders, and break his fast in their presence. So, then which political parties are you talking about which shouldn't 'politicise'? Are you saying that the opposition parties should not participate in this moment?
And since when are ideologies not important? Did Gandhi not have an ideology? Did Nehru not have an ideology? Did Bhagat Singh not have an ideology? When BJP and its supporters are declaring the students who are protesting to be anti-national, is that not the output of an ideology? Are the textbooks that are being changed across the state not an output of an ideology? Are the RSS people who are being placed in every university and dictating how the universities should run not the output of an ideology? If you're saying that you care for the students, then you should also know that what the students are going through today is because of an ideology that has taken over the country.
In fact, the most central aspect of what is happening in India today, is a fight of ideologies.
You're living in a beautiful tech-utopia delulu. I am a 50+ father of two Gen Z kids. If you think a government ban stops them, you don't know this generation.
India should ban social media for young children too.
I believe young children should read physical books, play in the dirt under the sun and stay away from social media!
@amitmalviya Dude, you guys made a Tihar returnee the highest paid media anchor in India's state-owned public television broadcaster. Public money. So STFU.
@4lokissake@NarayanamRohit@chad_maximuss@kapsology Correction. Remove the incompetent government. It could have been INC, AAP, CPI or any other. BJP just happens to be the govt today when this mess is happening. Requires mature thinking and not sycophancy. Gen Z are more mature than millennials.
