@DrEilidhMaria Oh sounds amazing and something that I would love to do. We ate at Giacomo Arengario when we were in Milan. The food was lovely, and the views were incredible.
You see this, this is what happens in real life. The bots can't show up on the streets.
On the right there (yeah the far right) are the 6 nazis who turned up to cause mayhem.
Everyone else is there to stop them.
This is England.
@InnovationMatt My mum can't make a doctors appointment without mt help as she struggles with making the online Patches request. Digital advances are excluding the most vulnerable amd those with protected characteristics. How is this ok?
When I need to call out a plumber I’m grateful to pay £40/h because I don’t have the first clue how to fix my boiler, or the skills to fix a burst pipe
Doctors are asking for half of that, to fix your kids
In life we get the health services we pay for
Oh and speaking for my own teenage kids - they did their national service by abiding by the rules of lockdown, getting their jabs and doing their bit for this country even as their education was shot to pieces. Meanwhile the fuckers in the fucking Tory party partied and ate cake.
Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs.
They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.
Yesterday I payed off my student loan, whilst I’m pleased, it’s worth highlighting what a ridiculous and frankly shameful situation student loans have become.
A🧵 below on how student loans have become a money making racket, its long term problems and alternatives:
@DrEilidhMaria I'm astonished how many people are speaking out in support of a process that causes so much stress and upset. Why are people so opposed to review and reform?
Imagine.
Spending 5/6 years of your life studying Medicine. Stressing over countless exams. Ensuring you're good and safe enough to be a doctor. Coming out with £100k student loan debts.
Then, get told you are RANDOMLY allocated your first doctor job ANYWHERE in the country.
@fxbylinda@DrEilidhMaria I think you're a bit dramatic. What other profession requires a 5/6 year degree and then the only way that they can do the specific job that they've studied to do, they have to move away from home to a random location anywhere in the UK. For 2 years.
SALARY FACTS: MPs vs junior Doctors
2008:
MPs – £61,820
1st year doctors – £28,274
2016:
MPs – £74,962
1st year doctors – **£32,398
2023:
MPs – £86,584
1st year doctors – **£32,398
And the government have the AUDACITY to call junior doctors greedy?!
In fairness, think the Prime Minister just brought the country together with a national moment of unity there.
Everyone is baffled as to what on earth he's upto.....and why it merited a Friday night podium in the rain moment...
@StanCollymore Shame he didn't call Lee Anderson out for being a racist. Or condemn Braverman for her Nazi style policies. I'm not a fan of Galloway but I hate inconsistency and hypocrisy more
