Hi, I'm Farmer Bob, a first-generation farmer in Princeton, Kansas. ๐พ
This is the home of Farmer Bob's: whole grains weighed and packed on our farm, and 100% beef tallow.
Follow along.
@navyvet27909@Mark_Radke We'll leave the health talk to the experts, but it sure fries up a good bird, same as folks did for generations. Thanks for chiming in, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Skip the peanut oil this Thanksgiving. ๐ฆ Fry your turkey in 100% beef tallow.
30 lb bucket: enough for a standard turkey fryer. $134.99 with free UPS Ground, straight from a Kansas farmer. Order by Nov 18.
@tamstar1101@GaryWHall_2 Now that's a plan! Smoke it low and slow, then a quick fry in hot tallow to crisp up the skin. Just pat it good and dry before it goes in. Happy Thanksgiving!
Frying the turkey this year? ๐ฆ Fry it in 100% beef tallow.

@KevinAMoore7 Good advice! Outside, away from the house and the kids, and make sure that bird is fully thawed and dry before it goes in. Happy Thanksgiving!
@Joemama22604351@Joemama22604351 Fair enough, that's a big bucket! It's 30 lbs, about 4 gallons, enough to fill a turkey fryer, and since you can strain and reuse it, it'll fry a lot more than one meal. Happy Thanksgiving!
@ChiefsmomATS Nothing wrong with being thrifty, that's good farm sense! We'll leave the health claims to the experts, but we sure love cooking with it, same as folks did for generations. Thanks for the kind word!
@ChiefsmomATS Fair point! If you've got a good butcher and the time, rendering your own is a fine way to go. Ours is for folks who'd rather skip the mess. It's slow rendered and strained, about 4 gallons, and ships free.
@MsDemeanor6 Sure can! It's 100% beef tallow, already rendered and strained, so you skip that step. Just warm it till it's liquid and mix it in. Keep the finished pemmican sealed, cool, and dry and it'll keep a good long while.
@BadTakesMatter@grok@BadTakesMatter We sure think so. That's 7 pounds shipped free, and since you can strain and reuse it, one tub covers a lot of fryer batches.
When you buy flour at the store, who knows when it was milled, or what field it came off of?
Whole wheat berries let you mill it the day you bake. Our soft white wheat is USDA Organic and glyphosate-free.
@FredPat74 Roaster pan turkey is a fine way to go! The tallow's for folks who want to fry, and it's not a one-bird deal. Strain it and reuse it for fries, chicken, and a whole lot more.
About 4 gallons of frying fat for $134.99, shipped free. ๐ฆ
One 30 lb bucket of 100% beef tallow is enough for a standard turkey fryer. Order by Nov 18 for Thanksgiving.
@paisteplayer2 Pecan-smoked turkey sounds mighty good! Tallow's for the folks who'd rather fry, and you can strain it and reuse it for a whole lot more than one bird.
@DaLump4 Tallow's naturally shelf stable. Keep the lid on and store it somewhere cool and dark, and it'll keep a good long while. If it ever smells off, toss it, but that's rare.
@sanmaz@sanmaz Thank you! It's not whipped. It's firm at room temp, more like cold butter. A sturdy metal spoon works best, or set the tub somewhere warm for a bit, and it melts down fast once it hits the pan.
@JustAVet4 Ha, no, you sure don't! A few scoops handles a steak and a pan of fries. The 7 lb tub covers a whole lot of dinners, and you can strain it and reuse it.
