It was great to meet with the BC Agriculture Council which represents over 20,000 farm families and 96% of farmgate sales in BC. They shared information regarding the need to for a Farmland Trust in British Columbia to help protect prime agricultural land! While land-use planning falls outside federal jurisdiction, change can happen from the ground up! I was delighted to learn about their work exploring the feasibility of the creation of a farmland trust for their province. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns!
