So, hold on a minute…
You use red, white, and blue imagery in your performances and promotional materials, your mascot is dressed as Uncle Sam, the crowd responds with a spontaneous “USA!” chant, and your reaction is to insult the very people who paid to see you?
You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, Mr. Robinson. That’s one of the freedoms that makes this country worth defending.
But what makes you the authority on what Americans should or should not be proud of?
As a veteran, I spent years serving and defending your right to express opinions I may completely disagree with. I will continue to defend that right. That’s how freedom works.
As for what some of us are proud of?
• Border Enforcement
• The deportation of illegal immigrants
• The enforcement of our laws
• Protecting and defending the constitution and the Bill of Rights
• Rooting out, exposing and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse
• The men and women who have served and sacrificed for this country
You don’t have to agree with any of those things.
But dismissing an entire crowd of Americans as ignorant because they expressed pride in their country says far more about you than it does about them.
Of all weekends to pick a fight with people expressing pride in their country, Memorial Day weekend seems like a particularly tone-deaf choice. Read the room dude!!!!!
I used to enjoy your music.
Now I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
Just my two cents.
I love to drive. It’s my happy place. Tunes cranked. Hours on end. That being said, Tesla Self Driving is incredible! Knock it or avoid it all you want.
@elonmusk Hey, Sir! Great car! LOVE my new Model 3! A few simple suggestions for future software upgrades. Would it be possible to give us a little more ability to specify certain parking lots to drive to for our “Work” and other saved “Favorites” locations. I have an employee lot at my work building and my car always tries to park in the main customer lot.
Second, could our in-car Grok remember our first name in the future?
Lastly, could we possibly get some settings that would tell the car to always back into a certain location at home (a certain side of the driveway?)
Thanks for considering! Have a great weekend!
@BuzzPatterson What is amazing to me, sir, is you guys make it look sooo perfectly smooth and easy! A true testament to your skill and professionalism!
What part of their sacrifice involved allowing non-citizens to vote in our elections?
What part of their sacrifice involved leaving America vulnerable to emerging threats that our government refuses to confront?
What part of their sacrifice involved supporting Senate leadership that too often prioritizes personal power over delivering real results for the American people?
Your leadership in the Senate fails to honor their memory when it does not take stronger action on these critical issues.
On this Memorial Day, we need more than words, we need courage and results.
@LeaderJohnThune
@RealDeanCain@TimFucile I love how we all decided to post pics of our furry children! Hope @RealDeanCain is enjoying all the K9 buddies!!!! Here’s my hat! This is NOX!
Quick note regarding Memorial Day:
Tomorrow is not the day to thank the veterans in your life for their service. As much as it’s appreciated—and I promise you, it very much is—that’s what Veterans Day is for, not Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is for those we can now only thank from a distance, no longer in person. It’s for the men and women who never made it back home to have their hands shaken or their bar tab taken care of in gratitude.
It’s for wives and husbands who have been handed trifold flags at funerals.
For kids missing a parent at their graduation ceremony.
For parents visiting a cemetery tomorrow instead of going to a barbecue.
Most importantly, it’s for the fallen.
It’s for those who paid the ultimate price for their brothers and sisters in arms, our flag, our freedom.
By all means, thank a veteran any of the other 364 days of the year (we don’t expect it, though we always appreciate it).
But please save tomorrow for the heroes no longer with us to hear our words of gratitude.
May we never forget them. May our nation be forever grateful.
I’m not an MMA/Boxing/UFC fan. But, I am curious to see how this fight goes tonight between RR & GC. Mad props for both of them cutting the weight and coming back to the sport after an extended absence 10 & 17 years I believe) even though RR is the favorite, I’d love to see GC take it.
