I just started experimenting with new design ideas for Automatisch. Here's an example of our sign-in page using one of the @shadcn UI login blocks.
Overall, it was easy to integrate and work with. I can definitely see why so many developers love working with shadcnui.
Not paid customers but I launched my language learning platform Elreader on Reddit back in 2021 and it brought 2.2k unique visitors so far.
The key point here is identifying the most relevant subreddits and not being spammy.
It was one of the funniest interviews I have seen in a long time.
You might disagree with @dhh on some points, but he has valid and robust arguments about all the topics discussed.

One challenge I face when building an Express.js app is the lack of an ORM that offers the same functionality and developer experience as Rails ActiveRecord or Laravel's Eloquent.
The closest option is Objection.js, but it's no longer maintained by its author.
@n26 you have the worst customer support service ever. I didn't see something that bad for years. I have a problem that I have been trying to solve for almost a month and there is no progress. I'm not sure whether you can solve it or not.
I will definitely switch to another bank
ceiling is being raised. cursor's copilot helped us write "superhuman code" for a critical feature. We can read this code, but VERY few engineers out there could write it from scratch.
Took lots of convincing too. "come on, this must be possible, try harder". and obviously- done in parts.
I see bad signs from startup ecosystem.
More than 50% of my network are VC backed founders, many of whom raised seed and some series A 2-3 years ago.
Every week I get few messages from them that they shut down their startup because they run out of money and couldn’t get more funding from investors and looking for a regular job.
It’s looking like a large clean up of the startup world.
We’re entering era of bootstrapped and self funded startups.
The era of scrappy generalists who can code and sell is here and I’m actually very excited for this.
I’m doubling down on products which move money from the value chain.
From corporates & VC funded startups to indie makers, solo founders and bootstrapped/self funded teams.
VCs will double down on funding the winners to make the monopolies.
I’m getting more allies every day for the bootstrapped / self-funded alliance.
The bug party is just getting started.
Being not VC-funded definitely worth to be shown, especially if you're building a COSS. I'm telling you this even though we also need to do something similar on our landing page.
🛠️Redesigned the header part of https://t.co/S21LiR62Qy. I'm not sure if I should make it "bold" that I'm not VC-funded.
What do you think?🤔#buildinpublic
@render also started to disappoint me. I have a database that I need to upgrade, but since there are no suitable plans between standard and pro, I have to buy more than what I need and pay ~5x.
Regarding this issue, I switched to @render a few months ago for my two side projects and I'm quite happy with it so far. It's a lot cheaper than Heroku and Render team is constantly adding new features that I thought about.
