Major education news today:
The UK Govt proposed to allow all new and existing state-funded faith schools to base 100% of pupil admissions on religion. This is proven to cause racial segregation, as well as disadvantaging disabled and poorer children!

@RoyalMailHelp Why has so much of my mail been delayed over the last couple of months? Just received a birthday card that was posted 3 weeks ago first class (Leeds to London). Took over a week to get a letter from Bishops Stortfort to London at start of this month.
@Leatherman Then why have you discontinued it in the UK? Just went to buy a replacement for an airport security loss and found I can't get a Squirt, Style or Micra. 🤷♂️ Ok the Micra ships from the US but postage is almost as much as the tool.
@xkcd This is my effort from the "asked if I could, not if I should" category. A cryptic crossword constructor with auto numbering (including multi entry clues), optional symmetry enforcement and output formatting. Takes a good second or so to update; no idea how it works now 🙂
@KLM_UK I can't seen to check in for my LCY->AMS->YVR flights tomorrow; online checkin requires a Canadian permanent residency card but I'm just a visitor so I don't have one!
@kelseyhightower It's hard to imagine a scenario where I'd start with a proprietary DB (unless hosted Mongo counts?). Also hard to imagine just _running_ a project; seems like everything I've ever worked on has involved packaging up a project for customers (or customers of customers) to use...
@colinhowe We also run into issues with the UI not liking large log outputs. Had to switch to logging to file and using the output to screen for general updates.
@colinhowe Sorry, shows how often I'm on twitter! We do use it and it's reliable as long as you're within its limitations. Biggest one we keep hitting is disk space (cf. RAM disk); end up needing a larger instance (which is very expensive) just to get enough disk for our builds.
