@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ So you’d just have kids not go to school?
The system does pretty well considering it has to educat any kid that walks through those doors. But again, you keep contributing to society by sitting on your ass, watching FoxNews, complaining on Twitter and not coming up w/ solutions.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ I had plenty of students who could read at or above grade level and do math at or above grade level and did poorly on standardized tests rife with technology issues and design flaws that made them difficult to administer or take.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ Correct, it is for students. Let’s hear your solutions. complaining about teachers is not a solution. Parents could start doing their part. And I assume you’re basing your stats on standardized tests. There’s a reason the public can’t see those tests. Poorly designed, at best
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ So, eliminate state pension contributions. Giving a teacher making 50k a raise of the $3550 contributed to state pensions will not move the needle in attracting people to teach. So what’s the solution? Eliminate pensions and do what to get people to teach?
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ I think you also overestimate how much the state puts toward pensions. Most of the pension funding comes from investment returns. Here are some actual numbers about teacher pension funding for Indiana.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ It’s all very simple till you do the job. I was a very vocal critic of public ed, in fact I was a useless Ed reform think tanker. Then, when I didn’t need to make $$, I got certified and taught elementary. It’s all very easy until you do it. I’d never let me kid teach.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ Best predictor of a kids’ ability to read , is parents reading with their kids in those years before school. Suppose it’s the teachers’ fault that parents can’t be bothered to read with their toddler kids.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ Teachers make shit money. They can’t afford to save for retirements. Teachers also have free will. Without a secured future, why would anyone teach? Then what? You’d love the economy if all the teachers walked away one day.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ It’s fascinating. Your crowd screams parents need to be arbiters of their kids’ educations, while then blaming all of the problems on teachers. So many adults don’t understand “parent” is also a verb. No accountability. Jumping a classroom for a year; then tell me your theories
@BenReidy_@ctjensen Ben is one of those under-40 think tank bruhs that sit around in conference rooms wearing cheap Mens Wearhouse suits coming up with brilliance like “end all taxes,” It’ beyond his capacity to form solutions for funding schools, police etc. He’d be lost in that meeting.
@Cam_Kroeger29@SevenHollow7@Morningstargaz3@CBoxSports The Pirates would like to propose another trade with the Reds. Can we interest you in this shiny Marcel Ozuna. He can be yours for the low price of any one of your top 50 prospects. Act now!
@LLkewlG@BenReidy_ Get off your lazy ass and look. All government expenditures are public record. The issue is it’s easier for people to complain than to put in the time to actually look into something.
@WhitezWill@BenReidy_ Yes the teachers and their riches. Every teaching I know lives in a gilded mansion with golden staircases, an infinity pool and a full staff of domestic servants…or they work second jobs to make ends meet.
@SenatorBanks@POTUS Between all these renovations, his endless war and slush funds for his friends, Trump’s really ripping through those tax dollars. Explain again how the GOP is fiscally conservative. Use simple terms, talk to me like I’m a stooge junior senator from Indiana.
