I've been reading Oil Powers by Victor McFarlane recently, & in 1973 Saudi Arabia was secretly supplying oil to the US military as Egypt was fighting a war against Israel.
To summarize, the Gulf has for decades played this role & their reward is being turned into frontline states
The UAE is being pulled deeper into a U.S- Israeli led confrontation, a gamble for a country that built its post-oil economy on stability, foreign capital, and Dubai’s image as a safe global hub.
That branding of UAE is ultimately being erased by Trump’s “preemptive” strikes.
Lindsay Graham is some guy who gets his thrills from imagining that he through the American military is some cowboy who is taming the region of the Bible by murdering, subjugating, and displacing its native inhabitants.
I fear that if Iran collapses into civil war and de facto fragments, we'll see the ushering in of cruel American domination of the region that far exceeds even the post-9/11 wars.
People like Marco Rubio wants truly evil things for this region.
What is seemingly forgotten is how the neocons in their pro-Israel milenarianism were also out for America's Arab clients, especially the large ones when adversaries were all gone.
If Iran collapses into civil war, then let us not forget who runs American foreign policy.
