FIFA’s Jungle Policy: Outside the Bounds of Justice
Football, the world's most popular sport, is fundamentally built on principles of fairness, equality, and spiritual connection. However, last night’s match stood as a somber and shameful moment in the history of world football. It was a distressing and unjust spectacle to witness the Egyptian national team being forced to compete not only against Argentina but also against the match officials and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system. This was not merely an issue of the final score; it was a blatant disregard for the hard work of the athletes, which will undoubtedly have a negative impact on their psychological well-being. The deep-seated corruption within FIFA, football’s governing body, was laid bare before the entire world last night without any pretense.
Ensuring equality and integrity in sporting decisions is an absolute necessity. The events of last night’s match clearly demonstrated a complete lack of justice. There is a strong possibility that these actions were deliberate, intended to provide an unfair advantage to a specific party through the exercise of influence. While past allegations of corruption within FIFA might have been dismissed as mere suspicion, the situation has now escalated beyond all limits, supported by mounting evidence.
FIFA’s actions reveal a glaring double standard in its policies. While the organization moved swiftly to suspend Russia following the Russia-Ukraine war, it has remained silent regarding the genocidal and inhumane acts committed by Israel in Palestine. FIFA’s excuse for this silence is the claim that politics should not be brought into sports. Yet, the creation and presentation of a "Peace Award" to Donald Trump—a figure known for inciting instability across the globe—simply to maintain a close relationship with him, highlights the extent of political influence within the organization.
Even in terms of on-field officiating, there is a noticeable bias toward certain players. Specifically, Lionel Messi appears to receive preferential treatment; despite committing an offense in the first match that warranted a red card, he escaped any disciplinary action. Furthermore, in the match against Austria, a goal scored by Argentina following an initial foul was allowed to stand, whereas a brilliant goal by Egypt was disallowed based on a distant and questionable pretext.
In addition, while the host nation, the United States, imposes sanctions on Iran—a FIFA member—and obstructs their national team, FIFA has failed to take any corrective action. FIFA also remains indifferent as the U.S. discriminates against referees from specific nations (such as Somalia) and utilizes political influence to overturn red cards.
Consequently, it is reasonable to conclude that FIFA provides special favors to certain teams or players to enhance financial gain and the tournament's popularity. Football must remain a fair sport, free from undue influence. Such actions by FIFA tarnish the organization's reputation and corrupt the very spirit of the game. Without justice, the future of the sport stands at a dangerous and precarious crossroads.
HDC has become fully compliant with the proactive disclosure obligations under the RTI Act. By doing so, they became the first SOE to reach the threshold.
Credit to the @hdcmaldives team for being first. They've set the standard. The other SOEs ought to be working on this now.
Two decades of systemic stagnation cannot, under any circumstances, be characterized as a record of achievement. I find it impossible to offer my endorsement to an individual whose actions directly compromised our party’s integrity and precipitated the collapse of its administration.
We were carrying out weekly fogging. However, due to the recent rainy weather, fogging was temporarily paused as it would not be effective under such conditions.
Inspection and chemical treatment activities will start soon, focusing especially on mosquito breeding areas such as construction sites and locations with stagnant water.
Furthermore, the individual you mentioned, Mr. Nasheed, is no longer a member of the MDP. Despite his objective to dismantle the party, he will certainly not succeed. Although he once enjoyed significant support, the public has grown disillusioned with him due to his actions during President Solih’s administration and his conduct in recent elections. While he attempted to break the MDP, it was his own party that ultimately faced collapse. The people have demonstrated that without the MDP, he lacks any substantial political influence.
The 'dictator' of democracy vowed to dismantle the party. In contrast, the young and seasoned democratic leader has pledged to unify it.
This is the moment—it is the time for the youth! This is a golden opportunity to liberate the party from the grip of a deceptive autocrat who has held it captive for twenty years.
To the true members of the MDP: to break free from these two-decades-long shackles, let us all cast our votes for
@MickailNaseem.
@Ashamhyd@HithadhooNazil@adamazim
@HKurusee He once boldly declared, "I will dismantle it!" referring to what he called a network of thieves. He dismissed any opposition with a challenge: "Don't even try, Bro." Now, he claims, "I will break up this party." The very foundation of your facade has crumbled under the weight of his arrogance! He displays a complete lack of shame and integrity. Today, he audaciously demands to be appointed as the Party Chairperson! Simply because those who stood firm to prevent the party's collapse refuse to support him, he dismisses them as "not the true members of the MDP." One must seriously question the clarity of his judgment.
@MohamedNasheed@AdhadhuMV@Dhaurunews@MickailNaseem@faya_i
The political movement originally established to dismantle a thirty-year presidency and seek liberation from such prolonged rule has now ironically spent two decades unable to free itself from its own internal dominance. Lowering the voting age to eighteen remains a superficial gesture if the youth are systematically barred from leadership roles or subjected to character assassination when they attempt to rise. There is a profound disconnect between the rhetoric of empowerment and the reality of the situation. Therefore, it is imperative for the younger generation to step forward and liberate themselves from the grip of an authoritarian influence masquerading as democracy.

What is Nasheed’s true offering? So far, Shamheed and the MDP Parliamentary Group have performed commendably. It's misguided to claim that anyone opposing Nasheed lacks integrity or isn’t a true MDP member. Should our leadership be limited to the bloodlines of Kaamineege and Kenereege?
His commitment to his principles is steadfast and unwavering. For him, success is not merely a goal but an imperative; he accepts nothing less than victory. The prospect of defeat is intolerable. He is guided by the wisdom that one should not allow oneself to be harmed by the same source twice, emphasizing the importance of vigilance. In essence, he embodies the role of a 'dictator' within a democratic framework.
@Mathin__
Never entrust leadership to those loyal only to individuals, abandoning principles in defeat. Opportunism threatens the party's integrity. Character assassination and false accusations reveal cynicism; those thwarted by ambition cannot later claim to be steadfast supporters. Choose leaders with sincerity and the strength to accept defeat gracefully—true loyalty is unwavering and unconditional.
In a resilient democracy, the ruling administration and opposition are fundamental pillars of governance. The stability of democracy hinges on mutual respect and political decorum between these entities. When both operate within this framework, it drives national progress and socio-political stability. A clear example of this democratic maturity is the President's swift condemnation of the attack on the Mayor of Malé City last night, showcasing exemplary democratic values and leadership.
@MMuizzu
Once condescendingly warning against acting like 'brothers' to a 'gang of thieves,' he now stands beside them. This glaring contradiction reveals his rhetoric to be nothing but empty words. Sadly, a few still fall for his deceit, but most have seen through his self-interest and chosen to distance themselves from his toxic influence.
