I finally understand that when you love someone, when you really love them, to recover from losing them you have to become a totally different person. You were molded to match them, and in their wake you have to disassemble yourself and try to find a new shape entirely. And so the mere idea of loss is an existential threat. I never understood this before.
Its funny how everyone's idea of heaven is a complete untouched paradise, crystal clear waters, lush green forests, enough food for everyone, classless, moneyless, stateless, a utopia of peace, unity and happiness. But here on earth it's considered a leftist ideology
When someone you love dies, you deal with two deaths. The loss of the physical person that left their body, and the loss of the person that you were before they died.
We have a funeral for one death, but for the other death, we need to recognize and honour ourselves.
We need to find a way to have an inner funeral to honour the fact that the person we were has died too. And with that honouring, we can slowly bring ourselves back to the new life, the new territory, we find ourselves in.
Some people in your life have never seen you at your full capacity. They met you in a hard season, a transitional moment, a version of you still being built. Do not let their limited experience of you become your ceiling. You are more than the chapter they witnessed.
desi men who build masjids and conveniently forget to build a women's section, what is your contingency plan when it's time for salah and a woman wants to pray? should she pray on the street where anyone can take a video and post it online?
If you’re an anxious person, just do everything for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. ANXIETY FEEDS ON IMPORTANCE. Do not make everything a matter of life and deaťh.
If you want a highly accurate snapshot of your metabolic health
Ignore LDL and look exclusively at your Triglyceride-to-HDL ratio.
A ratio above 3.0 is a screaming red flag that you are heavily insulin resistant and producing dangerous, small, dense LDL particles.
A ratio below 1.0 means your liver is processing carbohydrates efficiently and your fat cells are metabolically healthy.
This single calculation predicts cardiovascular outcomes far better than any standard lipid panel ever will.
Your ratio of triglycerides to good cholesterol tells the real story of what is happening inside your arteries.
You’re not dumb please..
WhatsApp stays free for personal users (no ads in chats) and makes money almost entirely from businesses:
- Main revenue: Businesses pay per conversation via the WhatsApp Business API (for customer support, notifications, orders, etc.). Fees are small (~$0.005–$0.08 per chat), but scale to billions.
- Ads: Click-to-WhatsApp ads on Facebook/Instagram that open business chats.
- Payments: Small fees/commission on WhatsApp Pay in some countries.
- Other: Premium business tools and verification.
So the core idea is that users enjoy it for free; businesses pay to reach and serve those users efficiently. Low extra cost at massive scale = profit.
That’s the whole model in a nutshell.
Doubt that Zahir Jaffer will go through the actual death penalty considering Pakistan's GSP+ status with the EU which requires adherence to it's conditions to maintain the said trade status. With one of the conditions being abolishing capital punishment.
Allah does not describe her as “strong.”
He describes Himself as the One who held her steady.
Her survival in that moment was not self-made strength. It was divine support keeping her from falling apart completely.
And this is where it connects to us.
This sentence by Dostoyevsky never fails to hit hard:
“You sensed that you should be following a different path, a more ambitious one, you felt that you were destined for other things but you had no idea how to achieve them and in your misery you began to hate everything around you.”
